It was great to hear from Rickson.

Wacky?

I think he was pretty on point with alot of what he was saying.I don't agree that BJJ is enough to win high calibur MMA fights, but what else do you expect Rickson to say?

I think he could have given Fedor a little more respect."Just do not be in his range and submit him"

I mean come on Fedor has awsome submission skills himself.
I would go so far to say if both men were in their prime Fedor could submit Rickson(not that he would tap) however this would be only after took some brutal punches in the head.

How was he not giving Fedor respect? He was saying that he thought Arona beat him and that he is beatable.

As for JJ being enough to win a fight, I think he just did what politicians do all the time. He said a lot without saying much. I agree that great JJ is enough to win a fight, but I also believe that is true for striking or wrestling. I think being great a one thing makes you more likely to win an MMA fight than a rounded fighter that is mediocre at everything.

He was saying JJ was enough to win a FIGHT, but not an MMA match with rounds and time limits. He's got a point to that.

And a lot of people think Fedor lost to Arona. Although I think he's nuts if he thinks that fight would go the same today.

fighters nowadays practice mma b/c its a sport, but things happen in a street fight that doesn't happen in mma, so when he says "bjj is enough" i think thats what he means (b/c of rules and such)

legend has it he was 100 times better than his younger brother Royce!

Not just legend, every Gracie from both Carlos' and Helio's sides say he was the family champ by far. Although he said Royler has the best P4P technical skills and he only beat Royler because of his size.

It's been pretty well documented that Royce was only chosen for the UFC because Rickson and Rorion had a falling out. Royce was also smaller and looked less like a fighter and they wanted to prove a point.

Are you replying to me? Helio also said in a documentary that he is the family champ. Tripp beat him with a Judo throw, which Rickson claims he was misinformed that would end the match. Nevertheless, I was simply talking about his status among other Gracies

Does it really matter whether he is 400-0 or not? Most of the things that I read say that he is undefeated in over 400 BJJ matches, not that he has never lost a match.
