its tough seeing guys with potential go and people like josh burkman, jeremy horn (sorry fellow utahns who read that) or Pete Sell stay depressing he has had some uh......flukish victories but i think he could be good someday if he trained harder. who knows maybe it will be a wake up call.

I disagree, Pete Sell has much potential at 170lbs.

Hahaha

Good one.

Losing to Machida and Cane is nothing to be ashamed of. Most of that division loses to those guys. Cane is gonna smash some people in the UFC im thinking. Soko getting axed is crazy, I think its a bad move on the UFC's part. He'sa pretty marketable guy too.

Soko needs to change much of his approach to training imo. He needs to lose some muscle and find a new camp as Team Quest is obviously not working out for him.

Drago looked real good at 170.He beat Burkman who was a former top ten at 170.I think he will have more success at that class then expected from others here.

What gym do you think he would do best at?

Too bad, quite a few good matchups they could have made, next step...Japan?

I don't agree with this at all.

He lost to Machida...ok...he beat Nakamura...ok...he lost a fight with Luiz Cane that he definetly could have won...ok...then he's cut?

I would have kept him around until he either lost to a fish, or lost two or three in a row.

At no point was Soko close to winning that fight.

I think he could do well at Xtreme Couture, working with Randy and Forrest. Or maybe ATT even...

I agree with either. He has potential he just doesn't train right

Soko was clearly winning until he gassed.

I disagree again... Whenever a fighter isn't living up to his/her expectations, the first thing ppl look to is the camp. Do I need to remind you it was Team Quest that brought Soku to the dance. Are you trying to say in a non-chealont way that Dan Hendo and Matt Lindland are not top guys to train with???

Listen, I'm not even a Team Quest fan. I haven't been since they kicked out Nate Quarry.

Let's keep in mind fighters don't always "stick to the game plan".... If it were Hendo fighting Cane instead of Soku, I GUARENTEE you the fight would've gone the other way.,,, but that's besides the point.

Maybe Soku doesn't belong in the UFC, but that shouldn't mean he NEEDS to switch his camp...., maybe he just needs a different strategy.

I'm a fan of Sokodjou and thinks he's very gifted.

But you can't teach heart and that's one part of his game I am unsure of. Somewhat like Gonzaga that when he gets put in a bad spot he turtles up or stops trying it seems.

I'd like to see Soko lose some of that muscule and maybe cut down to MW. then get some wins outside ufc and come back, after he's learned some ground skills and see how he does in the UFC MW mix

The release is understandable. Soko may be back with the UFC if he wins a couple fights outside the org.
