January's "UFC 93: Dublin" event, which is the first-ever UFC show to take place in Ireland, sold out in just two weeks, the organization today announced.

More than 6,000 of the available 10,000 tickets were purchased in the first week of sales, and the remaining seats were sold in week No. 2.

UFC 93, which is expected to air on pay per view, takes place Jan. 17 at The 02 and features former champions Rich Franklin vs. Dan Henderson, as well as Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. UFC hall-of-famer Mark Coleman.

letter to dana white,

Dear Dana, The reason your lesnar couture fight did not sell as well as you suspected is NOT because of the economy, like you must have now realized. looks like your little casual fans that were supposed to buy didn't want to spend that much money. maybe you should get better fights that stronger fans can appreciate like this awesome card. moral of the story... don't turn your back on us to make an extra buck.
Sincerley,
Haggis

Not that Ireland are part of the UK, close nonetheless, but the UK events have typically had poor cards in relation to US cards - so I dunno WTF you're on about.

Look at 89 card - then look at 90 card shown only 1 WEEK later for a very valid example.

i guess its always a good thing. look at EliteXC they only sold a half to 2/3 of the place and their gone. Today PPV sales make the bulk of their moneys.
