"September 11, 2001. I think that sums it up,” says former UFC light heavyweight Jerry Bohlander The 34-year-old Bohlander names that catastrophic day as the catalyst that took him from the world of mixed martial arts into law enforcement.

Very nice write up. The only downside is his comments on the new breed of fighters not training hard enough? Or their skills are specialized enough? That confused me considering none, if any of the original combatants in the UFC and elsewhere stepped into the ring/octagon with a new breeder like Silva or GSP, they'd get their asses handed to them.

Otherwise though, it's good to hear about Bohlander.

his comment about people not training wasn't directed at fighters, it was directed at people who walk around wearing tapout/affliction gear and other fight brands that don't train at all.

Ohh okay, yeah when I read it again that makes sense.

But even that is a lame statement. They are fans, of course they are going to wear gear!

for the record I really don't care about people wearing fight gear who don't train either, I was just clarifying his comments. I can understand how it might annoy some fighters though I guess.

Yeah, no worries man. I just think that was a little elitist on Bohlander's part.
