Just because Silva didn't destroy somebody doesn't mean he lost.

I'll just play devil's advocate and say.....Ye.....

No, can't do it. Seriously, there is no way in hell he would have won.

I cant wait til Silva fights a REAL Striker. If he beats Chuck, Forrest would pick Silva apart. Rampage would own Silva. But there arent many great strikers in the MW division that can hang with Silva.

I still say he is a Great fighter, he will be in the HOF when he retires, but he is overrated.

i was there
and i was upset put it did look like momentum was swinging to cote in the third but i doubt he would have pulled it off. silva won the first 2 rounds, if it went 5 rounds silva would win the fight

that fight would have gone to decision and it could have gone either way there....i only say this because silva was not him self and was verrry hesitant...which probably means that he was thinking about that right hand of cotes.. and all that shit that he was doing in the fight pissed me off because he always talks about respect but gave cote none..iunno all im saying is that silva wasnt going to knock him out like alot of u were thinking he was gonna do in the 1st round

Only way that cote wins was if he did what griffin did and bring the HYPNOTOAD with him!

Hail Hypnotoad!!!

it's hilarious that not getting knocked the **** out within 2 rounds equates to winning against anderson silva. If a fighter that we're used to seeing go to decisions like machida or forrest griffin ran into the same situation no one would be saying they were going to lose. He won the first two rounds easily even if neither fighter was very active, Cote landed like 2 shots.

People are really getting overly excited about Cote not getting demolished. The guy is tough, we all knew that, but taking knees to the face doesn't score you points unfortunately. I really wish Cote hadn't injured himself so I wouldn't have to listen to these crazy arguments.

LOL A REAL STRIKER? There are few better strikers in the WORLD than Andy. Look up his Muay Thai record.

Rampage might win with wrestling and strength, but he by no means has technique in the same Universe as Silva.

BTW, I am so sick of these stupid articles calling Silva's striking "unorthodox". His striking is almost pure traditional thai. Look at his combos, never throws from the same side twice in a row.

I don't think Cote would have beat Silva mainly because in the 1st and 2nd round Anderson Silva was, well, "not being Anderson Silva." The whole fight in seemed that Silva was toying with Cote, I was just waiting for Anderson Silva to errupt and knock Cote out.
