Will Smith turned down The Matrix for Wild Wild West.

Michael Madsen turned down playing Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction for Wyatt Earp.

Sean Connery turned down Gandolf from LOTR, reportedly costing him $400 million

Connery & Smith will be okay having plenty of $, but poor Madsen, he really couldve used the career boost.

david shwimmer (i think thats how you spell it) turned down Men In Black to act in the popular movie Breastmen. the role was later offered to Will Smith... so will made a bad choice in not doing the matrix but made up for it by getting lucky and landing MIB (even though matrix was probably alot higher grossing film)

Cool thread!

Though I can't say this one counts,it's still a little funny.
Glenn Danzig turned down the part of Wolverine in the X men movie, only to get knocked out by a fat guy backstage at one of his shows.

Things happen for a reason, and for some of these, I am glad. Some of these great movie would not be great movies IMO if the first pic would have got it.

Sylverster as Han Solo?
Connery as Gandolph?
