DAN HARDY made a sensational start to his UFC career with a commanding victory over Japan star Akihiro Gono.

The 26-year-old Brit was the underdog going into their UFC 89 clash but he outfoxed the Japanese Sensation to earn a split decision win and stamp his mark on the welterweight division.

But Hardy claimed he was never troubled by nerves ahead of making his Octagon debut.

Hardy is a good looking young fighter. That was a solid debut for him. Now he just has to avoid a roadblock (or GSP), and he'll be OK.

I'd like to see him fight...who else?...Matt Hughes.

Give him Chris Lytle, Marcus Davis, or Mike Swick.

Maybe Swick, but i think he's higher on the ladder than the other 2 after beating Gono

Have spoken to Hardy's best mate and although it's likely that Hardy will fight at UFC 93 nothing's been finalised, anyone who says it has is just speculating.

hardy is the real deal. I took him to beat gono. nothing against gono, but i was surprised it was as close as it was. i think hardy will "surprise" again in his next fight, unless its against someone too tough. swick would be an exciting fight.
