Affliction has partnered with M-1 Global, which is shopping around a reality TV series called “Fighting Fedor” that will feature a 16-man tournament with the winner eventually getting a shot at Fedor Emelianenko on an Affliction card.

The partnership was officially announced Thursday at Trump Tower, along with some details on the show.

A promo video presented by M-1 Global explained that participants from various countries will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, where they’ll train at the Red Devil camp and compete in the tournament. The video said the show will be on “American TV,” though it doesn’t have a home yet.

“We’re currently having negotiations with many different networks and channels,” said M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchtein through an interpreter.

Finkelchtein said networks are particularly interested because the show will focus on heavyweights. He also noted the international scope of M-1 Global, which through the M-1 Challenge has hosted events this year in Spain, Holland, England, Korea and Japan...link

Really... Hmm. Really? So the winner of this second rate MMA reality show, will be rewarded for making it through fellow TUF leftovers by getting to fight and be destroyed by the most dangerous human combatant on the planet? Sounds like entertainment to me.

I like Trump's quote in the article about wondering why anyone woud try to win the show.

I'll watch it but I can't see it lasting beyond 3 or 4 episodes.

Would it be funny if the contestants included:

Tim Slyvia
AA
CC
Barnett
??????????????????????????????????????????

But anyhow, this just seems like a pretty bizzare idea to me.I mean,I just don't really see the point.

I personally like the idea if it gets Fedor's name out there. But how much will it? Will he be coaching the fighters? And what fighters would they get? Brad Imes? Jason Guida?

I am making an early prediction for the final... Fedor via armbar rnd 1.

Well yeah!
LOL
But anyway,I don't see how Fedor will benifit from a TV show like this.I could see if it was a show revolving around Fedors life and troubles and how he prepares for fights, but giving him a show were a bunch of guys slobber of the chance to possibly fight him just seems strange to me.

I know fedor can be beat. Im not a fedor fan. But I dont think anyone on a reality show is goin to beat him. I dont even think the show will happen. but if anyone is gonna beat fedor it will NOT be some nobody. its gonna have to be one of the top HW in the world
