Sounds like he may be setting himself up for failure. How can a guy motivate himself to train properly if you're already talking retirement with 6 fights to go?

he said he is still motivated to fight and train. He just says thinks he has accomplished all he can.

It's too bad, I thought he would reinvent himself as a 205er next year.

This is only going to hurt his legend. He hasnt beaten any of the top guys in a weight class he can easily fight at(205) and the only fights that kept him in the P4P ranking are his wins over Franklin and Henderson. He hasnt fought a guys like Rampage or Forrest. And there is no prestige in the MW division right now.

Retiring makes no sense....

I agree. He could obviously retire tomorrow and still be a legend of the sport, but I hope he will keep fighting as long as he continues to dominate.

I hope he loses one of his next fights. I think that will re motivate him and keep him in the sport for years to come.
