well, he was controlling him on the ground and he did come much closer than anyone else ever had to getting a sub so it was definitely worth talking about for the announcers, but he wasn't really close to finishing it. It was still an impressive performance on Hunt's part, but I think the only person who has had Fedor in REAL trouble is Fujita when he landed that massive right hook. It's kind of funny because even a shot like that didn't result in a knockdown, although he was definitely hurt by it.

Fedor by GnP TKO/ref stoppage. Has anyone heard if Barnett will be fighting on that card?

I am happy this fight is finally here!!! I do like fedor but, i am a bit of a AA nuthugger.... I think AA will have the advantage on the feet. He has been looking good with his stand-up asince he started training with roach. Timmy was a good knockdown and win (for fedor), but i think about everyone does that to timmy. AA twice (not a win both time, but a nasty right that floored him) couture and fedor have all done that. Fedor knows how to finish a fight though. I am gonna take AA on this one, though it is not with a whole lot of confidence. I think it is one of those fights where if they fought 10 times they would split 5-5. maybe 6-4 i just dont know which way lol. I just hope whoever wins will embarass and destroy barnett!
WAR A REALLY GOOD FIGHT!!!!!!

I know AA's hands have looked good, but that was against Rothwell and Nelson. Anyways just want to mention that Ernesto Mr. Perfect Hoost has said Fedor's stand up is so good, he would clean out K-1 and dominate anyone now or past, that is praise considering they train together regularly. I like AA, but I think Fedor is to much for anyone anywhere, and that includes Cro Cop of 2-3 years ago on the feet. Fedor should be respected by everyone.

Arlovski might have the more technically sound pure boxing technique (debatable, I think Fedor realizes that boxing technique can't be applied directly to MMA as effectively. In a boxing match his striking might take an entirely different form.) but I think it's clear that Fedor has the more effective striking as it pertains to MMA, and he hits much harder. Tim Sylvia is their only common opponent as far as I remember and he said that he had never been hit as hard as Fedor hit him. It's apparent in the way he throws his punches, he launches his entire body into them.
I don't see any department in which Arlovski is better than Fedor. They're both Sambo practitioners and Fedor is far and away the more skilled of the two in that field. Barnett seems to be the guy with the best chance of beating Fedor, and I don't think he has a very good chance either.

I posted something a few days ago which was a statement from his agent saying that Josh wouldn't be fighting in January.

I've already said my peace about this one and now it looks like it may happen.
Barring a KO punch that NOBODY has even come close to landing on Fedor, I foresee Fedor taking Andrei down and submitting him with relative ease.
It's going to look like a remake of Hughes/Riggs. Put it in the bank.

I think it's more like fight where if it happened 100 times they would split 97-3.... and I think the 3 would all have to be by stoppage due to cut. I doubt very highly that Arlovski makes it out of the first round.

I have wanted to see this fight for a very long time. A dream fight (for me anyways). I think AA is going to surprise us. Its going to be a war no doubt. I will have to go with Fedor winning but cant wait to see the carnage.
