FEG president Sadaharu Tanikawa tells Kamipro that he's interested in seeing Shinya Aoki fight Yoshihiro Akiyama.
"Akiyama said he wanted to fight Yoshida. I think DREAM will never arrange Yoshida for him. It's obvious that Akiyama played to the crowd. I'm interested in what Aoki said. He fully understands what kind of fights DREAM wants to present. I want to watch Aoki vs Akiyama."
FEG (Fighting & Entertainment Group) is the parent company of DREAM, which is run by matchmaker Keiichi Sasahara.

akiyama by KTFO , I highly doubt aoki will agree to this fight.
A straight grappling match would be more reasonable . cro cop and roger gracie were going to have one on dream i dont see why aoki and akiyama cant.

Either way, you got two of the best submission artists in the world. And i'd pay anything to see it. Lucky for us in Canada, its on tv and free. Man DREAM is the best thing around, i really hope it sticks around.

Aoki called out Akiyama. Why wouldn't he agree to the fight?

It was Ralek Gracie. I don't see why anyone (other than Werdum, Gonzaga, Mir, or Nogueira) would agree to a grappling match with Roger Gracie (suicide IMO). This is an interesting fight to call. Akiyama is strong on the feet, and also has good judo. Aoki just needs to improve his stand up drastically and he'll become a very dominant fighter, because his Jiu-Jitsu is off the charts.

yeah i ment ralek and cro cop versus roger would of been suicide , your right about that. If this fight happens akiyama will have a huge weight / standup advantage and the ground/judo skills to nullify aoki.
Dude above gartface : can you provide a link to aoki calling out akiyama please , i did not read that.

in dream 6 Aoki called out Akiyama after his victory over Todd Moore. and while i know Akiyama is very talented on the ground, he would not nullify Aoki's skills imo. Aoki has competed against larger opponents in the past, most notably Roger Gracie, so it's not like he has never faced anyone of Akiyama's size. Aoki's style of grappling matches up very well against Akiyama,. especially if Akiyama wears the gi. Akiyama would need to keep this one on the feet in order to win imo, but either way i would love to see it.

If he want's to see it, it's happening, that is one powerful dude. He controled what was allowed on japanese tv from prison lol. I think if it stayed standing for to long Aoki would go down, but on the ground Akiyama could fall victim to the AOKIPLATA!

This time is the first ive disagreed about aoki with you jjfreak, but akiyama is really going to punish aoki in this fight.
Akiyama is just too big, he has stronger judo and Much better striking.
