"We were having dinner afterwards and Andrei Arlovski's guys were coming over and they were just talking about how they had been studying me and watching film and stuff and they’ve been doing it for over three weeks, and I was like, ‘huh?...And I didn’t say anything to them, but it makes you kind of wonder, three weeks? I thought you were on the same (one) week plan that I was? When you see all the politics all unfold and that made it very interesting."

-- Roy Nelson unhappy with the politics of EliteXC the fight against Andrei Arlovski.

Given the proper amount of time to train and get into shape, I think Nelson could have beaten Arlovski.

Everything about Elite/XC is suspicious, it look like they are willing to compete much more with WWE than the UFC.

Or, Shaw is trying to be in the record Guinness book for the " guy who make the most bad decision in sports history ". I think he is close !!!

Since it is clearly not in his best interest to bad mouth the promotion, it's probably true. Shame (again) on EliteXC.

i know that it doesn't effect the outcome, but if Roy Nelson is right there is a serious problem. there is too much shady acts coming from the Elite XC and in the end MMA only suffers. it is despicable how they are able to run this business with the slime ball tactics they use. they are a cancer, and must be removed to prevent any further damage.

even if they had both been given more time to train, I still think arlovski would have won.

I think if the ref didn't stand them that nelson may have finished arlovski.
Standing them up was ridiculous.

But then again...i only have 89 dollars.

remember that this fight was an AFFLICTION promotion. all paid for and marketed by them. elitexc just let them use there show thats all. and i do believe the stand up was a little quick but another 2-3 seconds and it would have been a good time to do it anyways.

guys the referees decisions are by the referee, not by jared shaw or elitexc or affliction. the referees are workers of the athletics commision, not by the promotion. maybe they bribed them but we'll never know

That standup was equally as bad as the standup in the Gonzaga/CC fight.
