I liked this one!!
"The legend of Kimbo Slice was built by beating bums in boat yards and back alleys not far from here. It came crashing down Saturday courtesy of a quick punch from a pink-haired journeyman giving up two inches in height, four in reach and 30 pounds in muscle and might.
One simple shot sent Slice to the canvas and from there some guy named Seth Petruzelli needed just 12 punches and 14 seconds to put an end (we hope) to one of the great sporting charades of all time.
It was just a matter of time before Kimbo got exposed. He was little more than a character out of central casting, a bunch of addictive YouTube videos and a lot of insane hype by CBS, which made him a headliner before he made himself a fighter."
NICE!!!!
Kimbo exposed as farce

it's true, that's the danger in throwing in a last minute replacement who is a half decent fighter. shamrock would have been the much easier fight for him.

I hate to say it because for a second I felt bad for Kimbo....
Its not his fault that he was being pimped by some promoters to hype their new fight league.....
But he went along with it and was payed well for it
I only felt bad for a second

Absolutely agree, hey i'd take the money if I were him. i don't mind people bashing his fighting skill, but when i see guys like mir say he's bad for the sport it pisses me off. elitexc built him up like this, and anybody, including mir would take the money and the hype that went along with it. kimbo trains in the sport just like these guys do, and while it's obvious he isn't what he's made out to be, don't blame him for the hype.

I think the only thing he was exposed as is a rookie in the MMA game. It is not his fault EliteXC staked everything they had on him only for it to blow up in their faces. I personally hope Kimbo succeeds but not with EliteXC

This journalist straight brang it, I do not think he was jumping on Kimbo just the whole farce of this guy being a headliner and Seth doing it makes it impossible to spin it in your favor. EliteXC needs to partner more with Affliction and bring Fedor to free tv and show America what a REAL badass is. Last night was a good stable of fights and Benji, Andre and Gina looked great, but those fighters will not pull in the ratings that a fake name like Kimbo will.
I also think Sheilds showed that he is not a top 5 fighter also and if he gets his wish and moves into 185 that even the EliteXC MWs will beat him. He is a decent fighter but with no power behind his standup or ground and pound he is not a complete fighter and the UFC WW would OWN him.

That had to be the worst article I have ever read. Dan Wetzel has no clue about Kimbo Slice or MMA. Wetzel is caught up in the "anti Kimbo hysteria". He ought to be ashamed of himself. I myself am right in the middle of the road....I am not anti-Kimbo nor am I a Kimbomaniac. Kimbo should fight Shamrock next anyhow....it still makes sense. I do question Shamrock's cut though.....he is a 2 time Pro wrestler....he certainly knows how to cut himself....did he bail out on purpose? Who knows?

being knock out by seth in 14sec is very sad that's what happens when you hand feed a fighter opponents for him to win and u need to take a fighter who you don't know about kimbo should have lost against james thompson as well

Why does fighting Shamrock next still make sense?? IMO, it didn't make sense from the very beginning! Actually, nothing they've done with Kimbo has made sense - hyped him as the next big thing, MMA God, etc.etc. (none of which he is). They either fed him tomato cans or made "circus-like" fights -- Tank Abbott, JT (king of getting KOed), and NOW a complete "has been" in Shamrock. As one of my friends put it, building a fighter up like this with "over the top ridiculous fights" will only come back to bite you hard when it really counts --- like last night getting beat by a "no name," but someone with some pretty good MMA experience.
Fighting Shamrock NEVER made sense and it never will unless they just want to keep the circus hype going... and make money of complete farce.

i think this guy is an ASS!! like other people said, it is not kimbo's fault he was pimped by the retards at elitexc. I was happy when he lost cause i was tired of hearing kimbo is the best. there is no need to shit on him like that. a 14 second loss happens! you can get caught in the first minute or the last minute of a fight. just cause timmay lost in 14 seconds doesnt make him a farce! (i realize kimbo wasnt fighting fedor either lol) now lets let kimbo train and be out of the limelight.

The whole idea of how they promoted him was what was a farce... and I'm just glad the true colors of the situation came through last night!
I want to see legitimate fights... not complete jokes!

Did you even read the article or you just mad that he was telling the truth. He didn't blame Kimbo at all. He basically said this was the fault of EliteXC and that they bet the farm on the wrong guy. That's all true they were main eventing a guy that has had no back ground in MMA at all and claiming he was some great HW fighter. Kimbo has no formal training back ground at all. No Wrestling, No Boxing, No BJJ...Nothing other than beating some guys off the street. Which the one guy that beat him in a street fight didn't last one round in the UFC. The truth is there so called great HW lost to a guy that's not even a HW and not even a mid level UFC fighter in 14 sec. He lost at the one thing they claimed him to be great at and that's stand up. What EliteXC was hoping on was for Kimbo to beat up a washed up fighter so they could hype him even more what they got was Seth (not so washed up) KOing their cash cow.
Again he wasn't being anti-Kimbo he was being anti-EliteXC over hyping Kimbo.
To add how is Kimbo beating up Shamrock make sense? Ken hasn't won a fight in years and isn't even a real HW.

I know what you mean. the guy is on the worst streak in his life then finally gets thrown a bone with hardunk who is just terrible on the ground then a monster with no sub experience whatsover and almost gets toasted. now because the Heavyweight devision is lacking he gets a title shot. zuffa must really like mir
