Instead of having it where one must be right to get the other, why not make it so that round and method of victory are stand-alone. Of course, you would have to pick the winner to get either right. That's just my opinion though.

I also agree that method of win is more important than time of win!

Apologies for the slow reply on this one...

Part of the problem is that there are tons of fights where 75% of more of the site's populace select the same winner and the same ending. If we didn't put in a third option to select and make the ending hinge on it, in the scoring simulations we ran we would have had a massive scoring traffic jam, with lots and lots of folks tied for the top spots per event. This problem would only become more pronounced as the number of site users continues to grow. Even as it is now, we still have a little bitting of scoring gridlock, but at least a few folks manage to be the clearcut winners of an event due to the scoring. So while some folks would like to score points for anything at all they get right in their guesses, it is currently this way to "thin the pack" a bit.

The gridlock happens at the top of the standings and not in the middle?

I haven't run any numbers, I'm just thinking out loud.

I don't think that anyone here is questioning the validity or importance of having more criteria for making their picks, only the respective importance of said criteria.I have very few qualms with the way things have been done so far, and one of my favorite things is that this site and the way things are done here are evolving, and so far, for the better. As for the scoring gridlock, I think the site growth may contribute to that, but I also predict that it will be offset by the growing number of events involved, hence reducing the "coincedence factor", so to speak.I'll bet ya $200 on it for your $175 .
Thanks for your reply though, slow or not, it's good to be part of a site where the mods are so good at listening to user input, and keep up the good work

its quite simple, calling the round is much more difficult then calling the method , that is obviously why it is worth more points.........
