A controversial loss can sometimes become a motivating factor for a fighter.

Such is the case with Jorge Masvidal (13-3), who will aim to erase the frustration of a June loss to Rodrigo Damm. He returns this weekend at World Victory Road's fifth "Sengoku" event.

While a guest on a recent episode of TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), the official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), Masvidal explained how that controversial loss has impacted his career.

"A lot of angry training, man," Masvidal said of his recent camp. "I'm still mad about my last fight. A lot of angry training."

In that "Sengoku: Third Battle" affair, Masvidal suffered a flash knockdown. Alhough stunned, Masvidal looked to be retaining guard on his opponent. Unfortunately for "Gamebred," the referee felt differently and halted the contest despite Masvidal being clearly awake.
