As a single fight, Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson on next month's EliteXC "Saturday Night Fights" show on CBS doesn't do a whole lot for me.

If the "Pitbull" version of Arlovski who battered and stopped Ben Rothwell inside three rounds back in July shows up against Nelson, the bout could be over in a hurry, with Arlovski getting his hand raised and the scene shifting quickly to the next bout on the card.

It's what this fight means for the future of EliteXC and Affliction that has me counting the days to Oct. 4. Affliction's willingness to sublease Arlovski and Nelson puts fans a step closer to seeing, perhaps, the biggest fight to be made in mixed martial arts today – Fedor Emelianenko against Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson.

There is no way Kimbo should be allowed to step into a fight with Fedor. I know this could be a marketing machine, and business is business, but there is so many better fights that true MMA fans would love to see. This fight will not go past 1:30 of the first round.

remember back before Randy's comeback against Tim, Tim was going to have a rematch with Frank Mir but the athletic comission ruled that Mir couldn't fight Sylvia because there was too big of a skill difference. if this fight gets booked and that doesn't happen i don't know what to say. if this goes down i think it's pretty obvious Fedor will beat him within 20 seconds...no exaggeration

also, i think Couture Vs. Lesnar is a much bigger fight than Fedor Vs. Kimbo would be.

You guys be serious for a minute. You're all counting Kimbo out completely but forgot his biggest strength. Having fights fixed for him. If this fight takes place in Elite XC he won't be finished, and if he even touches Fedor once the fight could be stopped. Stand ups will be quick, and Kimbo will win via domination.

not.

oh man think if kimbo KO'ed Fedor, that shit would be crazy.

But i guess since UFC is planning on lesnar vs couture being the biggest shit and then now affliction/elitexc prolly wants to try and counter with a fedor vs kimbo.

but i think the fight would be a joke at this point, but it is MMA and anything can happen. Kimbo beating fedor would be the biggest upset ever.

When I first read this I thought no way who would do that. And then I remembered it was Elite XC and Fedor does have the habit of taking some pretty weird fights.

What a joke this would be. Indeed Fedor by whatever he wants, but I see him subbing Kimbo faster than he did Big Tim.

No joke, but I doubt a Commission would authorize a Kimbo-Fedor fight. The one thing I remember from the Dana-Tito boxing fiasco, besides anger at my wasted 2 hours, was that they almost didn't authorize the fight, because of the skill differential. That concern was for what, a few rounds of what would basically be sparring in a sport neither one practices? I think Fedor's 25 fight win streak against many top guys might be a little too outside the realm of Kimbo's 3 wins against guys with a combined 33-34 record.

But hey, if they do allow it, I could probably clean up making bar bets by putting some money on the out of shape Russian guy against the great Kimbo Slice. Have you seen his youtubes?

So Fedor can't draw a good U.S. buyrate, and Kimbo has never been in the position to ever draw a buyrate.

Yep, sounds like Biggest Fight Ever to me.

wasnt the tim-mir thing mainly cause of how out of shape mir was, just used skill to make it seem more reasonable, but i wouldnt mind seein fedor v kimbo cause the amount of exposure fedor would be great. everyone would then know who he is.
