At least two fighters will not sit on the sidelines following the postponement of Affliction’s Oct. 4 “Day of Reckoning” event in Las Vegas.
Former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski (13-5) and IFL kingpin Roy Nelson (13-2) have been offered a heavyweight bout at EliteXC “Heat” Oct. 4 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. The event will be aired live on CBS.
Arlovski’s management team would not comment Wednesday on the proposed bout, while Nelson’s attorney, Rod Donohoo, also refrained from remarks. However, Sherdog.com has learned from separate sources that both fighters have agreed in principle to the match and that contracts have been issued for review.
The last-minute addition will be presented as an Affiction-EliteXC co-promoted fight, and adds a quite a punch to an already anticipated roster featuring a showdown between former Internet brawler Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and UFC Hall-of-Famer Ken Shamrock. Female sensation Gina Carano is also on board to take on Kelly Kobald-Gavin in a 140-pound bout.

I hope this goes down. Arlovski on free TV is always good.

Fixed! It's actually a glitch. It happens when the link is directly next to the accolades drop down...the mouse over goes over to far over into the post area.

Wow great fight. Unless UFC counters with another fight night I don't think a rerun is going to do much damage.

Good to see AA staying active, would have sucked for him to stay on the sidelines again after being in the UFC sidelines for like 9 months.

If they do counter w/ another fight night, XC could be down for the count as far as I'm concerned. They didn't do very well with the last show (who waits until a week before the show to start promos for an event), and they could be on the way down the elevator - to the basement.

He may look like a fat slob, but he doesn't fight like one.

i know, i wouldn't say something like that if i wasn't on an internet message board. nelson is a very solid fighter and a tough guy, he just looks like a fat slob.
