just because you are a good fighter does not mean you are a good teacher. keep that thought in mind when you say Nog will bring in Anderson and Machida. i agree with Jackelope's thoughts on Mir and i really like the way he breaks down fights and commentates. i think Mir will be the better coach as i think he will be able to instill more applicable lessons for the fighters he acquires than Nog will imo.

If the rumors are true about the assistant coaches being brought in, I think Team Nog will have the more well rounded coaching squad. Mir is bringing in Drysdale ( a JJ wizard) and Rafael Alejarra for strength and conditioning. And I guess Dellagrotte as was stated before for Muay Thai.
Nog already coaches his own squad of fighters and is a very well rounded fighter himself. Combine that with Machida, Lil' Nog, and Silva as asst. coaches, and that is one killer team.
But it really does come down to how the teams end up. If Nog ends up with a team full people who would rather party than practice, his team won't do well at all. But then again, that has nothing to do with how good Nog is as a coach.

yes, but think about this. would you rather train with Greg Jackson or GSP? just because you are a good fighter does not mean you will be a good teacher. just because Nog has an allstar supporting cast doesn't mean he will have the better coaches.

Agreed- both Drysdale and Delagrotte are renowned for their coaching ability. I also believe Frank Mir will make a great coach and even more importantly I believe he will make a great cornerman.
That's not to take anything away from Big Nog, though. I think Big Nog will be a phenomenal coach. However, I don't think people are realizing that it's not Big Nog who has trained A. Silva and Lyoto Machida to be the fighters they are. He's certainly played a hand, but both of those guys were with other camps long before they were with Black House. As for Big Nog's ability to be a cornerman? I don't think it will be as good as Mir's.
