With a perfect MMA career after eight wins in eight fights, Demian Maia remains unbeatable after three submission victories in UFC’s octagon, and he’s already training for his next bout. The UFC 91’s most important fight will be Randy Couture’s back to Ultimate against an young Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight title, and Demian Maia will face Nathan Quarry, at November 15th. Against the new opponent, Demian keeps training hard in Brazil, still without a specific training for Nate.

Awesome fight! Can Nate keep it standing, that's the only question in my mind. If he does, he wins, but if he gets taken down, there's a good chance, like with everyone else Maia has fought, he'll get subbed.

Quarry won't be able to avoid the takedown for too long, so Maia for the 1st round sub imo.
Good matchmaking though....

I think Nate has enough experience and has trained enough to not be subbed without one hell of a grappling battle. I think Maia is going to try for subs but Nate will just escape and do just enough GnP to get him the win. Plus nate is going to be overwhelming on the feet. I see either a Marquardt UD or TKO.
In other news. Wow this card is going to be amazing! Cant wait. I hope the Wanderlei Rampage match is made official and this might be my favorite UFC event in years!

I agree i think Wuarry could KO him as well, as long as he trains a lot of wrestling and sub defense i think Quarry will win this one. Its gonna be a sick card

I'm going to go ahead and say that Maia has the best BJJ in the MW devision even better than Palhares and Almeida and if it goes to the ground then Quarry will lose. On the feet I see good exchanges and it will be speed vs power... I think that Maia will get it to the floor and get another submission victory.

I really dont think Maia will beable to take quarry down, his wrestling his very good. Im going for a round one tko for quarry.

Although i'm a Maia supporter, I dont think he matches up well against Quarry. Nate is strong and has a good wrestling background, and standing I think Nate has this. Picking Nate, but will be cheering for Maia.

Maia should be able to take down Quarry, eventually but it's going to be tough. Nate has a great base and he's really wide at the hips.Once it gets there it's over as Nate's ground game isn't exactly near the level of Jason MacDonald.
It's a good fight and I think it will be competitive. I'm just surprised they're not giving Maia a step up in competition. To me Nate is basically ranked along the same lines as MacDonald.
I think he'll be given this same level of opponent until his striking has progressed, and he's ready for the biug boys like Nate Marquardt and Dan Henderson.

Nothing against nate quarry (the kaliv starnes fight unfortunatly did little to further his career), but i was hoping for maia to get someone a little higher up the ladder. I dont think quarry is much higher than macdonald, if at all.
That being said, i think nate will take the first round, but he'll eventually hit the mat in the second and it won't take long from there. maia is FAR more dangerous on the ground, so unless quarry dominates from the opening bell, i don't see him escaping.
maia, 2nd round, sub
exciting fight tho. WAR MAIA
