The name is self explanatory, and I find these threads are generally good for laughs on chatboards. So go ahead, add some of your favorite quotes from tv shows or movies to share with the other great folks that populate this forum! I'll start it off.

My all time Favorite from The Simpsons, which is a gold mine for these things: Bart: "Why do we have to buy new church shoes? Jesus wore sandals!" Homer: "Well, maybe if he'd had better arch support they wouldn't have caught him."

A few from Scrubs: Dr. Cox: "D'ya know what people are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with Bastard filling. But I don't hate them half as much as bubble headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine." Janitor: "I should probably clean that up... but if I stop leaning on this broom everyone will realize how drunk I am."

And finally, my all time favorite movie quote, from the great Robert De Niro playing Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver, by far his best role. "Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man."

Top those, suckers.

This is always a fun game to play: Name That Movie!

1. "Quiet! Do you smell something..?"

2. "I don't need a compass to know which way the wind shines."

3. "I'm The Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that, or 'His Dudeness', or 'Duder', or 'El Duderino' if you're not into the whole brevity thing..."

4. "Oh, yeah, 'Oooh... Ahhh...' is how it always starts, but then later there's running, and screaming."

"A mobster with a gay son, how ironic."

"How did you find out about us?"
"I'm a world-class assassin, fuckhead. How do you think I found out?"

Props who guesses it.

Lucky Number Slevin....just watched it last night for like the 5th time..very underrated movie imo.

"Well, in physics we... we talk about physics, properties of physics"

"So it's sorta social, demented and sad, but social. Right? "

breakfast club for teh win.

i got one (somewhat influenced by the previous quote)

I fear that I will always be / A lonely number like root three / A three is all that's good and right, / Why must my three keep out of sight / Beneath a vicious square root sign, / I wish instead I were a nine / For nine could thwart this evil trick, / with just some quick arithmetic / I know I'll never see the sun, as 1.7321 / Such is my reality, a sad irrationality / When hark! What is this I see, / Another square root of a three / Has quietly come waltzing by, / Together now we multiply / To form a number we prefer, / Rejoicing as an integer / We break free from our mortal bonds / And with a wave of magic wands / Our square root signs become unglued / And love for me has been renewed.

^ Dude, Full Metal Jacket, no way you pull that past a Kubrick fan. R. Lee Ermey was hilarious in that movie, and boot instructors are really like that. It's hard not to laugh, even knowing you're gonna get beat hard for it.
