probably because he is a huge name in japan, he's a legend over there, one of their most popular athletes.

Yeah, Yoshida is probably behind only Sakuraba and Takada when it comes to Japanese MMA. He'd be a big draw in Japan, just like Bisping in England and GSP in Canada.

Yep, Yoshida is a LHW not a HW, and he's a tough SOB who can get anyone on the ground. Huuuuuuge draw in Japan easily sells more tickets there then the UFC can sell here with anyone.
