Sucks for both of them....Yoshida needs a new top end guy to fight, he's badass, maybe someone who could finish Yoshida if he had to, that would mean less of a chance of a drawn out decision.

damn it, that looked like one hell of a matchup on paper. its too bad this didnt happen sooner so they could get a replacement, and with the karo recently talking about his panic attacks im sure the are going to be coming out of the woodwork blaming that for his withdrawal rather than a real injury.

Yeah- It's a head injury of sorts...But I don't think you can call it "last minute". This seriously F's up my parlay too.
On the bright side, Batman/Tavares will probably be a main card bout now.
EDIT:
I guess this makes me #1

they say its his back. i doubt he would have openly talked about his panic attacks if there was a chance of them keeping him off the card. you could argue he didnt think they were, but why even bring up a personal problem like that unless you had it under control? i know i know so he'd have an excuse when he lost...... already read that when he first admitted to them. Its funny how such a talented fighter can be so hated...

i was thinking the same thing. i wanted to see Pellegrino Vs. Tavares more than this fight anyway to be honest. there is a possibility that it might be Lambert Vs. MacDonald, but i think Tavares Vs. Pellegrino will be a much more entertaining fight.

More like Karo knows that he is on the way out of being a threat at 170. In Yoshida you find a guy who is just as good a judoka, if not better than Karo, and isn't afraid to bang. Karo's whole game plan is predicated on using the judo to keep an opponent from successfully implementing their game plan, in this right I expected to see Karo eating some throws. To be fair, this isn't the first time I thought Karo was ducking a fight, he probably left the room if someone even mentioned Jon Fitch. Karo should go to another promotion (while some still exist) where he would probably be successful and maybe even a champ, maybe he gets a crack at Shields, provided his back isn't hurt as well.

Wouldn't shock me, Yoshida is crafty. They should have Kevin Burns or Anthony Johnson fight him.

I'm pissed. I had Yoshida to win and some money on him. I don't think Karo really was ready to fight in the first place. The weeks leading up to the fight, he already was making excuses if he loses. What the hell did he do to himself the day of weigh ins to hurt his back?
How many times has Karo had to cancel a fight because of an injury? He blew his title shot years ago and has been trying to get back in there. The division will continue to leave him behind if he can't fight consistently.
