for years i have pitched an animal fighting league to my friends but they are apparently tree hugging PETA vaginas with sand in them, i'm glad to see someone else has thought about this. that being said i have to go with the gorilla, it's too big and strong for the lion, then again that's what i thought about tim and randy, so if that particular lion is known as captain africa then the lion, otherwise the gorilla.

a Lion has sharp teeth and claws and and could prolly gore the Gorilla a little,but i believe 1 Gorilla hammerfist to the back will break the Lions spine!....unless they Fight in Las Vegas under the NAC rules

You can't count out the gorillas' opposable thumbs either.
Lions aren't the most offensive fighters. As far as survival tactics they rely on stealth and ambushing to survive, like a ninja. And we all know how well Scott Morris faired in the octagon.
As far as defending their territory against other animals, lions make a lot of noise and cling to their opponent, a la Koschek. Its nothing but a LnP.
