While doing research to answer another topic, I noticed on a fighter's Sherdog record that he beat a fighter listed as "Unknown Fighter". Turns out this Unknown Fighter saw a lot of action from 1989-1994 in Shooto, but fought a couple times since then, last in 2004 (KO'd fairly quickly by Jose Aldo). Which got me wondering, does anyone know who this Unknown Fighter, career mark of 5-20-9, actually is? Not a big deal, just more a "curious/for fun" thing.

No matter what the circumstances a picture of Wayne Weems always makes me laugh. Props.

Ya know, it was Weems that really helped me prove a point to my wife about how good the UFC is about making a matchup look so even. My wife always has a hard time making her picks on here when she watches the Countdown shows. I had tried explaining to her that it's beneficial for the UFC to make a match look so damn even. When Weems was on the show, it was pretty obvious that he'd bitten off more than he could chew just by showing up...even the coaches were laughing at him. Until of coarse the episode where he's gonna fight. They had the coach saying how he's really turned his training around (really? he's now a beast after only a couple of days?). The kicker was when Gray looked into the camera and made some statement about having to take Weems seriously (or something like that)...to this day, I truly believe that they cut the part out of the interview where Gray bends over in laughter after saying that. Anywho, that's what I always think of when I hear Weems' name.

after doing some research, i think unknown fighter is just a contemplation of fights that they cannot identify a fighter in. because there is no way one guy fights 3 times on one Shooto card and loses all 3 times. it just doesn't make sense that someone that they cannot identify can have multiple fights because that would mean that they can tell when he does and does not fight whoch would require some sort of identification.

Lets go ask Luiz Azeredo if he remembers this unknown fighter.

Apparently Anderson Silva has only fought once and lost.
