There was a time when I got goosebumps watching Randy and his trademark smile while walking to the cage. Little did I know at that time that it was the ever famous "used car salesman" smile. I feel betrayed. Duped. You choose the words.
Basically I felt like what he was doing at the beginning of his legal battle was for the better of MMA. I thought he was doing it for the undercard guys getting shafted. Then we learned that it was all about the money and his own ego. Even though he was still alive and well one of my heroes died right before my eyes.
To cap it all off he comes back to fight a year later with a bout against a man I could care less about that has shown very minimal amount of respect to the sport. One of my other MMA heroes, Noguiera, gets shafted in the process. All while a man who could beat both of them is forced to watch from the sidelines unable to throw his name in the hat.
It's just a sad state of affairs. It's like a soap opera full of contractual bullshit. Throughout the whole process the people that have been raped the most are the fans.
If I could prop you I would. Once I read he felt he needed to be paid 5-10 million to fight Fedor I was disgusted, you want to prove your better then Fedor, and yet you say you need 5-10 million to step in the ring with him? He did do one thing right though, walk away from the UFC and say that Nog wasn't worth his time, then come back to fight the legend in Lesnar.

Does anyone think Randy can actually pull this one off? I really want him to even through all the legal shit and everything, but if you look at past fights, Ricco and Barnett were bigger wrestlers who beat him with some ground and pound. Thats exactly what Lesnar is. A big, powerful wrestler, who could be able to out muscle Randy. But if you think of it that way, he was way smaller than both Sylvia and Gonzaga, but he beat them both very convincingly.
Randy is probably quicker and has much better striking, but I think one of the most important things in this fight is whether or not Randy will be able to get Lesnar in the clinch, and if he will be strong enough to control him (like most of his other fights).
I do think that if Randy can get the take down he will be able to break Lesnar down and win this fight. I still haven't decided if he will yet, but if he can do that and continue to do it every round he might be able to win this fight. Plus after his last couple fights I've really learned not to doubt him.

this is complete Bs, randy vs lesnar, lesnar has fought a total of 3 times, and randy just up and left but hes still the champ, plus lesnars loss was 2 mir, how is he the won getting a title shot instead of mir or nog, this is completely unfair. and i love how randy said this whole thing wasnt about money, when its now obvious that, thats all this was about.

This is complete bullshit. Not to mention that this is complete disrespect to the current INTERIM champ who earned his belt the hard way..I agree that Randy never got stripped, but that would only mean that he should fight BIG NOG...
but Lesnar? What'd this guy do to earn a title shot? It's completely undeserved, and if he should win, what's that do for Mir and Nog? Mir I have no real care for, and if he has for win a few more times to earn a shot then fine, but what the hell about Noguiera? He's getting screwed.
As much as I like Dana, this was a bad call. A real bad one. Randy should be fighting Nog, and Lesnar should be fighting someone else. He doesn't derserve to fight Randy right now.
i don't have a problem with the match-up but what is bullshit is they moved this to vegas. this was the first ufc in the NW. it's randy's hometown. what the hell happened? god, i wanted to see randy prove everyone wrong again in person.
Hopefully the rumors are true and UFC is going to take over Elite XC's CBS contract and if so it put's this card in a good position to be the first UFC card on CBS. Tell me they wouldn't get good numbers with Randy vs Lesnar on CBS!

It would be good for numbers but if the finishes were like the first one where it ended early to prevent it from being too graphic it would piss off more of the fans who are more into it than the casual people who will watch it on CBS. But maybe they eased off, I only saw the stuff from the first CBS card, so I don't know if they are still ending stuff early.

It is too bad it took this long to get Randy back. Nog vs Couture should have happened a long time ago. Now, Nog has to basically fight Mir for the #1 contender spot, and Lesnar gets a title shot before Nog. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during the negotiation process.

What part of "Nog is tied up with TUF right now" do you not understand?
Don't worry Nog will fight the winner of this fight for the undisputed title.

I was thinking that that might be the reason, but really they should have just waited for Randy to fight Nogueira because now this is so complicated, Nog might get pissed off and unhappy with his contract, and we could theoretically have Mir vs Lesnar for the Undisputed Heavyweight Title...

Dude, as long as you're not a complete tard everyone understands that Nog is tied up with TUF. We all also understand that TUF is good exposure for Nog.
The one thing we all wanted, however, was Nog vs. Randy when they were both in their prime. Nog still is, no doubt, but now everyone will throw out the ol' "Well, Randy 2 years ago would have...." excuse. Not to mention the fact that Nog gets screwed out of the first shot at the actual UFC Heavyweight belt, which IMO should have been given to him long ago.

His game plans for Chuck worked 1 out of 3...Barney and Ricco demolished him. Yeah he did well against Tim and GG but GG quits when he gets hit and we all saw what Fedor did to Tim.
