i agree that Lesnar doesn't deserve a title shot yet but who isn't happy that Randy Couture is back? Randy is the king of gameplans and an outstanding greco roman wrestler. Randy will defend the takedown and use his great head movement and superior striking and cardio to out class Lesnar in this fight. i'm looking for Randy to take Brock out in the 3rd or 4th with a good combo that rocks Lesnar, they clinch against the fence, Randy takes Lesnar down moves to mount and finishes Brock with a barrage of punches from mount. mark my words Randy will smash Lesnar.

This sounds like a good match to me i dont know why everyone is complaining......The only reason that Couture is not fighting Nog is because he is doing TUF and is allready scheduled to fight Mir.....I would rather see Randy fighting Lesnar then some CAN or a unknown fighter.....I think this fight is good for the UFC and good fight for the fans......
The only thing that really blows my mind is that Couture signed a three fight deal....

I agree, sounds like a great fight!!
And for real, if Randy didn't want to fulfill his remaining 2 fight obligation, why would the UFC trust him to fulfill another 3 fight contract? I would be very weary of Randy and keep a close eye on him. But i'm really excited to see Brock vs Randy

I pretty much agree with the rest of the thread....but my question to everybody who is posting is simple....Are you going to watch the fight? I mean I don't think Lesnar deserves the title fight, but my ass will order the ppv or be sittin at my local sports bar when it airs. I see why they had to do it and I really think it's pretty smart from a business perspective. I kinda like the idea of the winners of the title fights get the undisputed fight. It makes for a more interesting situation to me. You could have Mir Lesnar 2, you could have Nog Couture, you could have Lesnar Nog, or maybe we'll see Mir Couture...and guess what...whenever that fight happens all of us will be glued to the TV again waiting to see who is the undisputed HW champ. Great business move by the UFC and for true MMA fans we know that the cream will always find a way to rise to the top. Be it AA, Barnett, Fedor, Couture, or if somehow that big ass Lesnar then it will come to pass. For now let's all just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I don't understand why so many people are mad. The UFC did what they could to get Randy back in the UFC. Now that he is back the fight isn't right. Nog is doing TUF which is great for his exposure. Lesnar isn't some chump off the streets. He just wiped the floor with a guy that almost beat Nog and was 2nd top contender in most people's eyes. This is a great fight for both fighters and I wouldn't be shocked if Randy asked for this fight. The PPV sales alone will be huge and Randy gets a cut of that. I'm just glad they were able to work things out and Randy got his head on straight. I'm fairly sure the UFC would have liked to have Randy fight Nog first but that's just not how things worked out. I think it will be a great fight and I very excited to see it. Nog will get his day be it against Lesnar or Randy. But he needs to get past Mir first which he should but this is MMA and anything can happen.

Glad to hear couture has worked out the issue's with zuffa. Brock, a title shot... don't like it. I wonder of dana has a plan to get some redemption from couture's departure last year by funding brock's training that would lead him to steal all couture's glory years in one win over the ufc champion. I hope randy's training goes better than his acting career, 11 months is a long time out. All the greats have suffered losses because they haven't defended their titles frequently enough. Brock just demolished heath herring, my god that one punch nearly went through heath's skull. If randy took one of them, its couture liddell all over again, randy would get ko'd. I know age isn't the case with couture but at 45, since his two ko losses to liddell, he has never looked quite the same on the feet. I have never rated tim sylvia as a striker with brutal ko power, and gonzaga didn't really have to many chances to hit couture. But brock, is young, training hard, very powerful and extremly pissed off with the mma world that he gets no respect. Dodgy one to call for me ........ I like brock lesnar's chances.
Hopefully regardless of how many haters out there don't like him, i want dana and tito to do the same thing. Tito has a couple more challenges left in the ufc, would be good to c him back in the octagon. I would love to see tito fight machida for a second time, also i wanna see tito fight jardine or cain.

This is complete bullshit. Not to mention that this is complete disrespect to the current INTERIM champ who earned his belt the hard way..I agree that Randy never got stripped, but that would only mean that he should fight BIG NOG...
but Lesnar? What'd this guy do to earn a title shot? It's completely undeserved, and if he should win, what's that do for Mir and Nog? Mir I have no real care for, and if he has for win a few more times to earn a shot then fine, but what the hell about Noguiera? He's getting screwed.
As much as I like Dana, this was a bad call. A real bad one. Randy should be fighting Nog, and Lesnar should be fighting someone else. He doesn't derserve to fight Randy right now.
i don't have a problem with the match-up but what is bullshit is they moved this to vegas. this was the first ufc in the NW. it's randy's hometown. what the hell happened? god, i wanted to see randy prove everyone wrong again in person.

Im tired of hearing about all the Randy Couture BS. I hope that he loses to Lesnar then you will see Nogueira vs Lesnar , because there is no way Mir is going to win that fight. At which point Nogueira will be crowned champion like he should be anyways since Randy walked away leaving the division in limbo.
I use to love Randy until all this BS started too!!!!

There was a time when I got goosebumps watching Randy and his trademark smile while walking to the cage. Little did I know at that time that it was the ever famous "used car salesman" smile. I feel betrayed. Duped. You choose the words.
Basically I felt like what he was doing at the beginning of his legal battle was for the better of MMA. I thought he was doing it for the undercard guys getting shafted. Then we learned that it was all about the money and his own ego. Even though he was still alive and well one of my heroes died right before my eyes.
To cap it all off he comes back to fight a year later with a bout against a man I could care less about that has shown very minimal amount of respect to the sport. One of my other MMA heroes, Noguiera, gets shafted in the process. All while a man who could beat both of them is forced to watch from the sidelines unable to throw his name in the hat.
It's just a sad state of affairs. It's like a soap opera full of contractual bullshit. Throughout the whole process the people that have been raped the most are the fans.
