As we previously reported. Randy Couture had been offered and was considering a three-fight contract with the UFC. MMARated.com then reported over the weekend that a three fight extension was on the verge of being agreed to which would see the popular UFC champion return in a fight against Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 on Nov. 15.

couture would get beat by both lesnar and big nog and then have one fight left and will want to get out of that last fight to go fight fedor in 2009 but fedor wont want to fight couture because he would just smash him cus of the two losses to lesnar and big nog.

i'd say just give him a 1 or 2 fight contract, have him fight whoever and then leave the org and go and fight fedor get beat and retire.

I have asked this in like three or four different things but never got an answer. Why is he gonna fight lesnar and not nogeira? nogeira is the interim champ and the definition to being the interim champ is they are the stand in champ until the real champion can challenge him. so did randy get his title taken and i missed something or what? someone please explain this to me. and why does lesnar get a title shot? he has only won two pro fights and only one in the UFC. WTF?

because big nog is fighting frank mir on the december card because they just did TUF 8 and big nog and mir were the coaches.

Lesnar isnt getting a title shot against couture, it will prolly be a 3 round fight even the fight even takes place which i dont think it will.

I doubt they will allow Randy to keep the belt. They haven't officially stripped him, but Nog already won the interim and is scheduled to fight for the official title. I don't see how they can say Randy is still the champ.

I think Randy should fight Werdum, Who ever wins out of Couture/Werdum will face the winner out of Nog/Mir.

They need to take his title away to simplify things and not make this TUF season irrelevant. I think Randy getting top fights is more important to him at this point so I don't think i would be a big deal to him.

wtf. this is a joke. it's great that couture is coming back but it pisses me off it's against lesner. it makes no sense. lesner doesn't deserve to fight coutre yet. obviously it should be couture/nog for the belt 2 of the 3 top hw's in the world.

Why do people keep saying Lesnar doesn't deserve top fights??? Did anyone miss the Herring fight? Herring is EASILY top 5 in the UFC. He was also destroying Mir before getting caught in a sub. He obviously deserves to be fighting the top fighters.

Ask yourself a simple question: Does Lesnar have the potential to beat Couture? If the answer is yes, and I'm pretty sure just about everyone will agree that it is yes, then he deserves to fight him.

I'd like for any of the people saying this to offer a valid reason why he doesn't deserve to be fighting couture after his last 2 performances.
