Couture Could Return to the UFC With First Fight Back Against Lesnar in November.
Various online reports in recent days have surfaced claiming that disgruntled UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture has been involved in negotiations with Zuffa about a possible return to the promotion.
Adding additional fuel to those reports is Michael Rome of BloodyElbow.com, who reported Friday that he had confirmed negotiations are indeed taking place between Couture and the UFC. And as first mentioned by FiveOuncesOfPain.com on Thursday, Rome also adds that Couture’s first fight back with the company could take place at UFC 91 on November 15 in Portland, Oregon against Brock Lesnar. It is unclear whether the Couture vs. Lesnar fight would have a title at stake. (continued)

I couldnt really believe this when i first saw it. Why would couture take a fight against a rookie that i think could actually beat him. So then people will think lesnar is ready for a title shot but he isnt. Then other people wont want to see fedor and randy fight.
Randy has everything to lose and nothing to gain from this fight. But even if the fight does happen, i hope brock just destorys couture.

I think it goes to show that once a fighter has faced all different kinds of challenges he wants to face something new. People hate on Fedor for taking "freakshow" fights, but for Fedor it's not about easy competition, it's about challenging himself in new and unusual ways. Same goes for Couture in this fight against Lesnar.

He would take the fight because it would be for a lot of money that is the reason. Also you think brock could beat randy? You must be crazy. Randy is a better mma wrestler than brock and is better in every aspect fo the game

edit:
I should have read further...The article states that the UFC would add compensation to Randy's old deal and add a few fights as well.
I'm sure thats exacly what Dana is thinking...
"Here ya go, I know we already gave you a boat load of money the first and second time you retired. But what the hell, we can restructure a third time. We'll pay you a little more, and add two more fights to the deal."
Deja Vu.
This won't happen. But if it does, I'm setting the over/under at two fights before Randy retires again.

As happy as I would be to see Randy come back to the UFC, I think Lesnar is the worst possible choice for Randy to return to fight. Lesnar would be too much for him to handle.

I don't see this fight happening to be honest, now I understand they can't have Couture vs. Nogeuria cus of Mir, but they should definatly put Couture against Fabricio Werdum IMO

i know what you mean.
its weird a year ago i wouldnt have given lesnar a chance in hell, but with all this crap with randy and the courts etc, over a year of ring rust, as well as brock's surprising (to me) domination of heath, i have a strange desire to see lesnar retire couture in an impressive fashion.
i still respect randy immensely, but my opinion of him has just changed so much over the last year.....

I think Randy v Heath would have been a lot worse than what Lesnar did to him. Randy would have sub'd his ass garunteed! Randy should have to fight Nog....the Interim Champion!! Just like BJ had to fight Sherk!! I'm not trying to hate on Lesnar but c'mon now.....his fans are starting to sound like Kimbo's!!! Also what's in this fight for Randy other than some cash....no belt, no title, no glory of defeating a top 5 fighter and legend that is NOG....doesn't get him closer to fighting Fedor....what would be the point. To have a freak fight that he could lose! Makes no sense to anyone except Lexnar fans.

I thought about it and the only motivation I can think of for Randy taking this fight is that he needs to get out of his contract with the UFC.
It's a crazy predicition, but maybe Randy sees potential in Brock and might want to train him after. He may go in there and make like it's Taktarov vs. Macias. I know it's a crazy prediciton, but I can't see what else it would be.

I think it would only be a 3 round fight unless they give Randy his belt back.
