Posted by telnights Dana is right Tank never was that good but Tank has his place in the Hall of Fame as he was one of the first in the sport and was very well known because of his balls to the wall style. But just because your in the Hall of Fame doesn't mean you were a great fighter it just shows you did something great for the sport of MMA and were well known.
I think a lot of folks that got into MMA late don't understand how influencial Tank was. Coming from a TMA background, the UFC turned everything on its head and stirred up a lot of questions that instructors either couldn't answer or were afraid to answer about their own systems and real-life situations.
Tank came along and made the situation even worse by being an out of shape bar fighter that was knocking the crap out of guys with 30+ years of fighting experience, and then cracking a beer. He was single-handedly damn near as influencial as UFC 1.

I agree he made people rethink there combat styles. Its funny because it really showed how lacking some styles were in real life fights in almost the same way Royce did in UFC 1. At the same time it also showed which styles truly worked at defeating Tanks all out style. Tank has his a place in the history of MMA and in the UFC Hall of Fame. I think Tank could have been a great fighter if he would have just truly dedicated himself 100% to the sport.

I have always liked Dana for his diplomatic tongue, he adds good drama to the sport. But, Tank will punch him out if they meet in public, 35% chance that Tank jumps Dana within 9 months. That would ******* rule
