Shinya Aoki spoke to World-MMA and showed much praise regarding American MMA and the training facilities that American fighters have to train at as opposed to those in Japan,

He would be a welcome addition to MMA in the US. I am not sure though if he could come in and beat BJ. I would love to see that fight, but I think BJ win by tko.

I read an article on this a few months back. I would love to see Aoki not only fighting in the States but in the UFC in particular. Penn vs. Aoki is pretty much a dream match for a lot of fans and it is very possible.

i think aoki's style is geared towards more japenese style fighting. i don't think he'll fair too well against US fighters.

I would love to see him fight in the UFC(this is the only company that has a real a LW division in the US) but I don't think he is worth as much to them as he is to say dream or any other Japan based MMA company. So I think he would end up taking a pay cut. But man would a love to see some of the fights that could happen with him in the UFC.

Aoki is an awesome fighter. He's like a spider monkey, when he gets a grip of youit's like stickem', you just can't get him off you.

That said I think he would have some difficulty against strikers with good takedown defense. He seems to fold when he gets hit. I think he would do very well against guys with a wrestling base like Tyson Griffen and Clay Guida. His success would be determined by the right matchups, but knowing Dana he would probably match him up with styles that would be really difficult for him to overcome. Just to make a statement that the UFC has better LW's.

I would love to see Aoki in the UFC against any one of the solid light weights. I would like to see how he stacks up against the competition in the United States. He is one of the best light weight fighters in Japan. It would be interesting for rankings. More then any thing else I enjoy to watch him fight.

I would love to see Aoki fight in the US, IMO I dont think he was ever top LW talent. He would end up like Nakamura, Omigawa, or Mishima and we would see him right back in Dream.

I'd like to see him in the UFC, but the people saying they'd like to see his rainbow pants would be disappointed because you're only allowed to wear approved shorts in the UFC. He almost definitely would not be allowed to wear his full length tights. I'm guessing they would be considered an advantage, as they probably allow him better grip, especially in the later rounds when people are sweaty.
