"I'm not ducking Nick Diaz at all" Noons told MMANews.com "anybody with half a brain knows how big a fight that could be for me."

This fight could be the biggest fight of my career." said Noons of the fight with Diaz "Taking a fight with Nick Diaz is not the problem at all, the problem is the fight with EliteXC."

Unwilling to go further in terms of what the problem is with the company and when asked if it had anything to do with contract negoiations, Noons would only say that the problem goes deeper than just contract negoiations.

Noons again told MMANews.com that he would hold a conference call when the time was right to tell his side of the story.

What is going on behind the scenes can only be left to speculation but there is obviously a stand still between EliteXC and their Lightweight Champ, KJ Noons.

Now it's EliteXC's fault? Just attempt to defend your belt and be happy you have the hardware with a mediocre record and a KO loss to Krazy Horse.

to Noons.

If he keeps bitchin, and not wanting to fight who the company wants him to fight, he is gonna have some trouble getting somewhere like the UFC when elite goes down.

i didn't know that his manager was the same guy that was dealing with Vera during his hold out. it seems to me that this is largely the managers fault for talking them into bad decisions. he sounds like a plague to me. Vera surely missed out on some cash for the year and then ends up coming back to two losses. Noons should learn from this and find some new management.

ha!

What a way to speak nonsense; "the biggest fight of my career" and don't take it ?
BS, he's ducking him, no question about it.

What do you call it when you're willing to fight one fighter, but not another? If the problem is with EliteXC, not Diaz, then why are you willing to fight Alvarez but not Nick? I'm wanting to wait until I hear his side of the story before drawing any conclusions, but nothing else really would make any sense besides greed...he has them right where he wants em.

in reality its probably a combo of many things....noons is somewhat ducking diaz, if he actually truly wanted that fight as bad as he says he does, then he could make it happen, give up a little to gain alot...but hes not, so ducking does come into play....dion, the manager, is incompetent as such and only looks after his pockets, this noons thing has the potential to turn into the same situation as vera had with dion....if dion is causing all these problems with promotions, one has to think hes not very good at what he does and is very shady....elite xc may have made promises, may be looking for the biggest payday event for them, cuz as far as mainstream viewership diaz is a better fit than an alveraz fight...but thats what promotions do, theyre a business not a benefit society

K if this is all EliteXC fault than why would KJ's manager come out saying that they don't think Diaz is the #1 contender. Also saying they want to fight a guy that's getting married and recovering form an injury and will be out till next year. Why even bring that up at all if its just an issue with EliteXC? The only way I can see this being EliteXC fault is if he means that they wont let him fight who ever he wants to fight. Its almost like KJ doesn't know what his manager is saying to the press or EliteXC. I think this is Dion pulling them same stuff he did with Vera.

Dion is like the Drew Rosenhaus of MMA. How else could Brandon Vera get a contract that pays him as much as Anderson Silva. Granted Silva gets payed a flat rate of 200K and Vera gets payed 100K to show another 100k to win, but still it seems like the UFC was swindled.

I would imagine if there are other issues at EliteXC it's something similar. KJ has the belt now and Dion knows Diaz would be a huge fight, so he's trying to swindle EliteXC to. Sorry to break the news to you Dion but the piggy bank is empty.

I doubt it is EilteXC's fault. KJ is under contract, and needs to fight whoever Elite wants to have him fight. It sounds to me Noons is acting a little to big league here and thinks his stock is higher than it is. Dude just fight.

For those actually interested in hearing his side of the story, Noons is scheduled to appear on the Savage Dog Show tomorrow.

well i'm glad he came out and spoke, because by sitting idly by was doing nothing but harm for him. i actually believe Noons and i will tune into Savage Dogs Show and hear him out. obviously his manager played the wrong angle by saying Diaz isn't the #1 contender but there are always 3 sides to the story, and so far we have only really heard one. let KJ explain himself and maybe we can find the 3rd side...the truth.
