Good to see it wasnt his fault that the woman had miscarriage. I feel sorry for the girl that lost her baby, but this should shut some people up.

So from what i understand is that he'll have to pay 25k and thats it?

FYI- Just because the State chose not to charge Jackson with any crime related to the miscarrage does not mean that he may not be held accountable for the loss:

In a criminal trial the State has the burden of "proof beyond a reasonible doubt" which it must meet to convict anyone who stands trial. In other words, the State of California would have to prove to a jury that there is absolutely no doubt at all that the death of the unborn child is Jackson's fault. It's a pretty high hurdle to jump, and they would have never been able to make that proof. So subsequently, he was never charged.

HOWEVER- In civil court the plantiff only need to meet a standard called "perponderance of the evidence" to gain judgement. In other words, they need 51% of the evidence to point to Jackson as the faulty party in the matter to win their case.

This is exactly why OJ Simpson was found guilty in one court and not guilty in the other. In the criminal case brought against Simpson, the state did not meet their burden of proof, hence he was found innocent on of the charges.

But, the remaining family members sued Simpson in civil court and won a boat load of money, because they only needed to meet that "perponderance of the evidence" (which was not hard to do).

So, while Rampage won't be charged criminally with the loss of life; he is not out of the woods yet when it comes to civil court. I've got a feeling we haven't heard the last of this yet.

California can't charge you for the death of a fetus, its a very specific law and even if they related the death to the car accident they wouldn't be able to charge him in the death. Fetuses aren't covered under the California Insurance Policy. The last thing we need is when our governor gets caught hitting a pregnant woman with his Hummer is him being charged with murder.

Yeah but Kobe was being wrongfully accused by a girl looking for a pay day and all he was guilty of was being a bad judge of character. He lost all of his million dollar endorsements and he took a severe hit to his legacy.

Rampage fasted and deprived himself of sleep and actually did commit the crimes he is being charged for. He really didnt lose anything, and is already going for his next huge payday with the fight against shogun.

Good. Now all the baby killing arguments will cease. He'll probably just get probation for a couple years. I know someone who drove under the influence and sideswiped a few cars along the way. He evaded the police for a while to, at like 15mph though, and he only got two years probation so I'm expecting something similar. Of course being a superstar sometimes judges want to make an example.

Hopefully he can get on with his life now and keep his rampages to the cage and atari classics.

I really hope your wrong. He deserves to go to jail for a couple months atleast, and sorry to say, so did your buddy. Pages antics that sad day were....unforegiveable.

As Far as him fighting he might get work release from jail so we could see him in the cage. I have heard so many things about why he did it what was the final conclusion? My one buddy said he heard that he hadn't ate for days and was living on energy drinks.

I doubt the girl would have a chance in cival court either, they all ready ruled out the accident as being related from her own doctor. Also she was 38 (I believe) which puts her in the high risk catagory for miscarrages... Although i do feel for her and her family, as my Spouse and I lost our son last year (he was born stillbirth at 6 months) and we are in our early 20's and we also tried to figure out something to have caused this, but after almost a year later we found it was just "natural". Once again i do feel for the family but unless you are 100% certain, then it would be a hard thing to blame on someone else! Now that we have been through it and learned how common miscarriges and stillbirths are, I just think it was horrible timing(for Rampage)

Ok enough with that whole incedent as it is ruled out, I don't think he will spend a day in jail, he will pay a fine and maybe probation, he is not a career criminal. Everyone has there ups and downs, obviously not everyone has done what rampage did!! But people even famous people lol do make mistakes!! He will get through these issues and he will be back. As champ!! (i hope)

I hope this illustrates my point about not assuming one way or another what happened without knowing anything about the situation. He definitely deserves to be punished for evading arrest, and hit n runs, but the people who were crying murderer based on a tiny article posted on an MMA forum were way out of line.
