This is an article I found on a video game website where they created a wish list and power rankings for 80 fighters that they want to see in the new UFC 2009 video game. I thought it was neat to see which fighters they thought should be in the game and how they ranked the fighters (although there were several I didnt agree with).

On a side note, when you get to the heavyweights and you see the list, it serves as a sad reminder of how weak the UFC's HW division is.

I though the game was near completion?!
If it is shouldn't Arlovski, Sylvia, Tito and Couture all be in it?
I might rent the game first see if I like it. I played the old one the other day and was embarrassed. I still don't know how they'll fit al the moves in.

It's titled "wish list"

Also, prediction for the game I'm sure the twitchy ass gameplay and lack of a stamina element will be very fun for the general but after playing Pride FC I can say this game is still very far from where the gameplay should be.

That is seriously the biggest pile of crap i have ever seen on IGN. who ever wrote that obviously isn't an MMA fan and they're just going off of the fighters records. there is a ton of overrated and underrated fighters and there are also a ton of them that aren't even mentioned. they seriously messed that up so bad listing everything they messed up would just take way too much time. absolutely horrible job by IGN.

if you want to know my accolades, just look at the six badges because they were literally too long to list. (damn 500 character limit)

I dunno how much credibility it has but the Wikipedia page has almost a full roster listed. Most of the time their video game information is pretty accurate.

it would be cool if you can change their fighter shorts and entrance music

they still need to add the tuf winners of the tuf 8 coming out this spring
maybe some unlockables fighters from the past like royce, severn, randy couture

they should also have blood, doctor stoppages,
i can't wait to get it

I don't really understand what power rankings mean.

I would really hope that they rank guys b/w 1-100 by risk attributes:

Overall Strength
Boxing
Kick boxing
Striking power
Takedowns
Takedown defense/Ability to get back up.
Ground control
Submissions/BJJ
Cardio/Stamina
Chin
Submission Defense
Striking Defense

Probably could add "weight" too so you could have realistic fights b/w weight classes. Or you could just be sensative to all the attributes given the weight class a fighter is in (ie... the hardest hitting Lightweight may only have punching power of 35 compared to 60 or 70 for a below average Heavyweight).

I sold my 360 a while ago because I was just bored of videogames and it was collecting dust. Now I just might have to buy it back. 100 fighters seems like an awful lot.

I hope IGN's rating guide isn't going to look anything like the game.
