MMAPayout.com has learned that Couture and Emelianenko, along with their respective management teams, have spent a great deal of time together in Los Angeles this week. The purpose of the informal summit is not entirely clear, but one logical goal of the meetings could be the development of a collective strategy moving forward in order to insure that [their] fight takes place, sooner rather than later.

Interesting to see where this goes.

I don't even know how interested I am in this fight anymore. It would still be good to see but Randy's been inactive for a long time now.

I agree... and I'm not a big fedor fan AT ALL... but after watching him destroy Tim and remembering this is Couture who i watched get KO'd by Chuck... this probably isn't that interesting anymore. If Randy beat Big Nog, then I'd care.

Finally people are coming around, all props to Randy. He is a world class athlete with lots of heart and grit. But, its Fedor. Randy is like 16-8 or something MMA. He's solid well above average don't get me wrong. With that being said this is such a mismatch. I hate how people talk about this hypothetical fight like there's all kinds of uncertainty regarding the result. Fedor and its not even close.

Much like the Sakuraba vs. Rickson fight rumors....
I'll believe it when I see it.
