White said, “BJ was here tonight all fired up cheering for GSP; they both really want that fight. I’m gonna let that fight happen."

Also from the article : "A source close to the situation has informed Fightline.com that the fight will take place on December 27 of this year, corroborating a previous report that the two would meet for the UFC's New Years Eve show so that date looks likely at this point. "

Wow... please stop with the Sherdog-esque replies at each other. This is the playground for God's sake.. lend us members some credibility.

This will be a great fight. Both guys will bring it and it will clear up some p4p rankings for sure.

I was way impressed by GSP dominance way impressed by fitchs cardio- heart and ability to stay in the fight (sorta) i mean.. he was fighting back and landing some shots. A few times i saw GSP with a " why wont he stay down" look ... he was regretting not finishing it in the 1st........
I was like WOW Rocky 4 ......Quoting Drago " he is not human, he is a macine" lol
what a FANTASTIC fight.

BJ and GSP will be a great fight
I was thinking that the new Gsp is just too big, Too strong and Too athletic for BJ.
HOWEVER- We have a new BJ as well what a great fight

i wonder if it will be a title fight. i'm assuming it will be. that would be amazing if penn became the lw and ww champ. i hope he really does go back to lw and defend his title against florian though. that's a great matchup as well.

whoever wins this fight, will make the top of my p4p list.

Penn's my favorite fighter but I still got alot of respect for GSP. I really dont want any of these guys to loose, but I want this fight to happen.

if this is a title fight then bj needs to vacate the light weight belt

I' remember hearing that it would not be a title fight.

I'm not a big fan of BJ getting to leap frog other contenders, but it's a great fight. I'm not a big fan of either fighter which is rare for me to watch a fight where I don't like either one.

GSP is just too strong for BJ. It will be a huge size disadvantage. I think George should keep it on the feet because that is where he would probably have the most significant advantage. If he puts BJ on his back , then I think BJ has a shot.

BJ is a natural lightweight. I think he's making a big mistake moving up to welterweight.

I heard BJ say he was gonna come into the fight around 160-165 he said thats the weight he is at before final water weight cuting before a fight I still think his standup is better then GSPs I can't see him subing GSP I really see this fight ending by UD again for GSP although how I would love to see BJ win I think GSP is going to the LnP for this fight but you never know after the Serra fight with GSP he could get caught

Who can finish Fitch at this point? I don't think it's GSPs fault he didn't finish him it was Fitch's iron willpower to keep going. Also I thought this was gonna be a title fight as far as I know it is. BJ wants to hold both titles and in no way should he vacate the title. I also think this will give the welterweights and lightweights a chance to decide for sure who is #1 contender...
