In a recent interview with Fedor Emelianenko's manager and M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelstein, Vadim hinted the possibility of Fedor fighting Randy Couture within the year.

I'm not reading that they have been hinting at this for a year now. I won't believe in this fight till the are standing nose to nose in the center of what ever playground they choose to use.

well considering he's suspended due to injury for 6 months it wont be happening in the u.s. and i think if a fighter fights in another country within that suspended time then they tack on more time for voilating,.....so bascially 6 months from now puts us sometime after the new year when we will see him again....plus looks like couture is loosing his battle right now too.....i think we should all just assume that this fight isnt gonna happen for a very long time if it all....we should focus on the now

First of all the medical suspension can be cut short if he is cleared by an approved doctor. That being said, I still don't see this fight happening within the year based purely on Coutures legal situation. It's a bummer but it's reality, he really ****** himself with this whole UFC situation. Oh well, cross your fingers I guess.

In a way I hope this fight doesn't happen, I mean what if he steam rolls Randy the way he did Sylvia. I would hate to see that happen.

Well one thing people have to remember is that Fedor's manager also stated he is not under contract with Affliction and can fight werever he likes.He also has stated that they still continue talking to the UFC.So their is always an ever slim chance we could still see this fight in the UFC.

"Couture said that he is ready to fight with Fedor. I can tell you that if UFC will negotiate with us then this fight can happen this year, maybe within the bounds of our joint tournament with UFC. We are ready to negotiate, the fighters are ready, everything is ready, the only deal is with UFC policy headed on their separation and singularity."
should read:
