Jon Fitch says having a teammate who has fought Georges St. Pierre has proved valuable to his preparations for Saturday’s title fight.

Josh Koscheck, who trains with Fitch at the American Kickboxing Academy, lost to St. Pierre on points at UFC 74.

Despite losing, he learned a lot about St. Pierre from that fight and has been passing his knowledge on, Fitch told UFC.com.

“He can explain the elements that are intangible, the things that you can’t see on tape,” says Fitch. “That makes him a little more real to me.”

He says that Koscheck had the wrong gameplan going into the fight “because he thought there was no way anybody was gonna take him down and he didn’t train any wrestling”.

two things

1. Hearing how do do something, or what to do, and actually doing it, are two different things.
2. GSP has made his career dealing with wrestlers, if that all fitch is bringing he's done.

imo fitch should train almost strictly standup and cardio

bahaha he's just as dillusional as kos is. too bad for him, gsp trains different for each fight and that is to beat every opponent at their own game. he took it easy on kos and has shown to not have that kind of remorse, even though it was a statement to kos that he cant simply rely on his wrestling, he wont be fighting fitch in the same fashion. round three stoppage for gsp, at the very latest. hopefully then, both of them will wake up from this dream they have.

I have a feeling the hidden knowledge will stay hidden and won't benefit Fitch in this match.GSP will overpower him in every area.

Really? And where is your evidence to support this? Fitch's horrible track record of being manhandled?

See I myself am picking GSP but by no means do I not believe that Fitch has all the tangibles to beat GSP. GSP is a great fighter and so is Jon Fitch I do believe having Koscheck in there trying to take him down will help Fitch leaps and bounds. His take down defense should be amazing and I see a stand up war which I give the edge to Fitch. I def. could see putting money on Fitch especially on how big of an underdog he is.

All in all I don't think anyone would/should be surprised if Fitch leaves with the UFC belt around his waist.

I'm betting KOS told him to bring a gun because its the only way he will win.
