The UFC’s parent company, Zuffa LLC, emerged with another victory Friday, as a Dallas appeals court granted the promotion a stay against a motion for summary judgment submitted by Mark Cuban’s HDNet Fights.

The Mavericks NBA team owner had filed the motion on Feb. 13, requesting that a Texas court decide when five-time UFC champion Randy Couture (Pictures) would be eligible to sign into a contract with his own rival organization.

It just kills me because he would have been done with his current contract and would have been a free man by now and we would have seen Randy vs Fedor instead of the big dope. I just don't get it you signed the deal live up to it and move on. He's getting bad advice from some where. I'm so done with this story just retire. Don't get me wrong I love Randy but I'm on the UFC's side here. Just tired of athletes that sign contracts and try to back out of them. Nobody forced him to sign with the UFC he did it on his own now be a man and accept responsibility and honor your contract!!!!!!!!!!!!:

You know. In the grand sceam of things it wasn't all that long ago Randy Couture was one of the greatest stories in MMA. There he was, Capitan America winning over the hearts of fans with everything he did. His comback, and subsequent dismantling of Timmay was nothing short of inspiring.

His last fight was less than a year ago. but doesn't it feel like we've been talking about this contract squabble now for the past decade?! All I really want is to see this guy fight some more. I know that a lot of people view him as more of a whiner then a fighter at this point; but honestly- Who does not want to see this guy throwdown again.

Foolish pride on both sides of the coin. And at a time when MMA is really taking off. Couture could be such a great ambassitor for the sport. He would have made an excellent Sunday Conversation on ESPN too. He'll never get back to that point now. It wouldn't matter if the judge said yestarday said "What the hell baldy, go ahead and fight tomorrow." The guy could win his next five headliners and still get the same interview questions:

"Dana White, your thoughts?" and "Do you ever think that you can repair your relationship with the UFC?"

He'll never live this down. And given what little time is left, who knows if he actually fights again. Cause I guarentee that as soon as he signs a fight deal for Fedor in October the UFC will file an injunction and claim breach of contract.

It's just a damn shame.

They already have filed a breach of contract claim. The only people that lose are the fans of the sport

Like I have said many times before, who cares anymore and until something of note actually happens here Im sick of hearing about and from The Natural.

Im not even fussed about a fight with Fedor now. He's not fought for nearly a year and his age is against him. Fedor Vs. Arlovski has far more sparkle than Randy does now.

I agree with the ufc and others on the thread. He signed the contract and should have finished it, period.

Shit, this thing never ends. You know Randy could have already fought those two fights by now and we WOULD be seeing Fedor vs Randy at the next Affliction. Instead we're gonna see Randy in the audience and once Fedor wins they are gonna trot Randy into the ring and talk about how they are still legally working out the details for a future fight between the two. At that point Dana White and his legal team will come exploding into the ring from out of nowhere in the audience and inform Affliction, Fedor and Randy that the U.S. Supreme Court has just passed down a ruling that Zuffa now officially owns their souls and that they are dismantling Affliction, moving Randy back to light heavyweight and Fedor's next fight is against Anderson Silva and Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match.
