The knockout over Terry Martin at Affliction’s first edition didn’t only put Vitor Belfort back to victories, but can get him a title fight. Belfort’s broken hand might not be a trouble for his next fight. “The doctor will analyze it, but I may stay four weeks out. I’ll come back in October 11th to fight Matt Lindland for the belt”, told the athlete, that will face the Fábio Negão’s opponent on Affliction’s first event.
“It’ll be a great fight, we’ll see who is the best of the world there”, said Belfort, that guarantees his style will be a problem for Lindland. “I saw his fight with Negão and he’s a warrior... He comes be over you, but I don’t think he has the strength to stay over me”, analyzes Vitor, that wants another knockout on his career. “I’ll go to knock him out… My punches are well-aimed and when it hits he won’t stand”, guarantees Belfort.

This one is tough for me to pick.
Vitor is one of my favorite fighters but Lindland is likely to lay on him for the entire fight. Oh well.

No one is going to take WAMMA seriously if they're setting this up as the two best MW's in the world.
I really don't like the matchup either. Vitor may be the worst BB in jiu-jitsu off his back. Nothing but closed guard. Lindland will put him on his back and keep him there for 15 minutes.

They wont bill its as the 2 best MW in the world but they are 2 recognisable names for good reasons.

I think with the election coming up in november it is going to be very hard for Linland to give 100% to fighting right now. You all saw how gassed he was in that last fight agianst a vertual no name. Belfort koed a seasoned Terry Martin(not the biggest win in the world, a good win none the less) I see Belfot by tko in the 3rd.

Lindland will fight him the way Couture did, dirty boxing, clinch and GnP. Belfort will give in under the pressure.

I look forward to this fight. I think it will tell us a lot about each fighter at this stage of their careers. Is Vitor coming back to his former self? Is Lindland still considered top 10? I like the matchmaking.
