The top boxing coach Freddie Roach worked with Andrei Arlovski before his fight with Ben Rothwell at Affliction: Banned. After comprehensively defeating Rothwell - Arlovski is next in line to take on newly crowned WAMMA Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko.

Roach believes that “The Pitbull” may have an eye on another world champion - Wladimir Klitschko.

In an interview with Fighthype.com, Roach said:

“I thought Andrei fought a great fight. I’ve been training his hands and I think he won the fight with his hands pretty much and I was happy about that. His ground game looked okay, but I don’t know nothing about that (laughing).”

“Yeah, we were working on combinations. I thought he varied his punches very well. His opponent was very tough. I was surprised he took so much punishment. He hung in there.”

“Andrei is not a boring fighter.”

Andrei's a great MMA fighter. Stick with that, because Wladmir would end his career.

rofl... that's sort of a misquote. Really what he says is that there's interest in the fight because of the russian rivalry, but you can tell that freddy knows there's no chance andrei could step into the ring with wladimir. There's no possibility of this fight happening.

Klitschko has a probably the best Jab in HW boxing. Hes mobile. The only thing in question is his Chin. Arlovski is an awesome striker, who also has a questionable chin. In boxing, Klitschko will K him TFO.

In MMA, Arlovski will Tap him TFO.

all in all, I really see no reason why AA is doing this, other than publicity.

Klitschko KO round 8.

I dont think it will happen. He needs to concentrate on Fedor.

I honestly dont know why YOU guys don't GET that a fight with Klitschko would be MUCH MORE profitable.

Listen, Wladimir made 12.8 million dollars for fighting Tony Thompson. He made 15 million for fighting Sultan Ibrigamov. It's a very safe guess to say that if AA fought Wladimir there would be fairly high interest from two different sectors of the market leading to a fairly high PPV number. I think they could get at least 250K PPV buys here in the US. In Germany Wladimir gets 20 million people watching his fights and he can sell out a huge stadium and pull in 6-10 million at the gate (especially how the Euro is doing against the dollar).

That means that AA might get a base salary of anywhere from 2-7 million. He's been getting paid less than 250K for most of his fights in the UFC and his highest payout EVER was 750K at Affliction. You kidding me? Woudl you turn down 3 to 10 times what you have ever made in your life time because "it's boxing." ?????!!?

this i don't get. Your Klitschko of MMA? What does that mean? You think he's a boring, strong striker with a weak chin? A tall Russian? Is he exciting?

I think Klitschko catches a lot of crap but he fights almost exactly the same as Lennox Lewis and it's no wonder, his trainer Is Emmanuel Steward. Jab, straight right. Jab jab jab straight right. we know he can trhow lots of combinations and punches but he is frickin 6'6" and has 4-5" of reach on almost every guy he fights so he totally dominates ina boring fashion.

He CAN explode on guys but that opens you up. I would like to see him fight David Haye. BUT in the meantime, if AA got a couple of good pro fights against top 30 HW and showed really well, I'd love to see him jump and fight Klitscko. I think he cold KO the big man and he's tall enough and quick enough to get inside of the reach and negate the clinch.

Klitschko would destroy him. Plain and simple it would be a blood bath that would end whenever Wladmir wanted it to.

Said everyone before the Lamon Brewster fight....

Before the Corrie Sanders fight.....

Wladi is definitely beatable. Will AA do it? Who knows. That's why you watch the fights. One thing is for sure, if he's aggressive it makes it VERY intersting.
