Nearly 16 months have passed since Ricardo Arona (Pictures), a man once universally received as one of the world’s premier light heavyweights, appeared on the mixed martial arts scene. A former open-weight winner at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships, the elusive 30-year-old holds wins over Wanderlei Silva (Pictures) and Dan Henderson (Pictures) and went the distance with Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures).

Arona last fought in April 2007, when he succumbed to strikes against Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (Pictures) at the Pride Fighting Championships swan song -- Pride 34 “Kamikaze” -- in Japan.

I think Arona would be a worth while addition to the UFC 205 division but I dont think he would ever make it to a title shot. IMO

I'd like to see him in the UFC. They should definitely think about signing him. Some good matches for him there.

i will have to work it off, because i don't have the money per say; but, i will make signing Arona worth your while

He would be a great addition to the UFC. The more quality fighters the better in my opinion. I don't see him ever being the champ, but there are some fights that interest me. I would like to see him fight Soko again.

His lay n pray would be even more utterly boring without the knees on the ground. Aside from what he did to saku's face , I have only been entertained when he's getting knocked out. I say sign him and give him a chance to show the "new" arona. Hopefully he spent the last year and a half training stand up. I personally would like him to face machida. I think machida would shrug off the take downs and then knock him out.

LHW division is so stacked in the UFC its not even funny. I dont think he could even rank in Top 5 in UFC. Arona=Waste of UFC cash, or Arona=Stepping Stone

I would like to see a rematch with Shogun.I think that fight might actualy prove to favor Arono in the octagon.

Maybe, but I dont see anyway he gets down to 185 IMO.

I would just like to see him in the UFC however, he could definately contend, he would definately have the best ground game in that division.
