Scott Smith and Robbie Lawler weren't the only ones settling "Unfinished Business" last night at EliteXC: Lawler vs. Smith II. Anthony Johnson ran into Steve Mazzagatti last night for the first time since Johnson's controversial TKO loss to Kevin Burns last Saturday night.
FightLine.com was on hand when Johnson approached Mazzagatti at ringside during last night's event. Mazzagatti and Johnson shook hands and hugged. Mazzagatti apologized to Johnson and noted that it was "a bad call" and Johnson immediately accepted, saying it was all good

They need to have Yves Lavigne ref every fight. Mazzagatti is not as terrible as Yamasaki but he still makes dumbass calls like this all the time. Maybe it's time to bring Big John back to the UFC.

Well its good to know that Mazzagatti is man enough to admit he made a mistake. It takes a lot to admit when your wrong. Most of the time Mazzagatti is a good ref but he made a huge mistake in the Johnson fight. At least Mazzagatti didn't do what Dan Miragliotta did after the Kimbo vs JT fight and that's defend his bad call and blatant favoritism. I don't think Dan Miragliotta would ever admit what he did was wrong. So I give Mazzagatti props for admitting he was wrong and by him doing so should make getting the fight out come changed fairly easy.

Each corner should get a red challenge flag.

Well, With Mazz realizing his mistake there should be no reason why the NSAC can't overturn the loss for Johnson. Burns got warned like 4 times in the second round, so yeah. I think it should be overturned.

That was pretty cool of him.
I just hope he learns from his mistake and doesn't make a call like that again.
