In the article it says it wont be a title fight, but it will be for GSP's belt; typo?
if all goes to plan hopefully gsp will still be holding the ww title after they fight in december and bj will move up and fight gsp in hawaii for the ww belt.

Bj's physique isn't built to be a welterweight. He's a dominant lightweight, and probably a top welterweight. While he has better skills than probably anyone in the welterweight division, he's constantly going to be up against guys who are stronger and bigger.
Guys like Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves would expose that I think. There's a lot of welterweights that walk around at 200lbs. BJ doesn't have that type of frame, he has a lithe slender frame better suited for the lightweight division.
He lost his last two fights at welterweight. I'm sure he can overcome the strength advantage to some extent, but I think there will be someone who will just absolutely maul him and expose that.

No, that's not what it says. They phrased it kind of poorly, I had to read it more than once to see it myself.
"the fight will not be a title fight but its going to be announced as "battle of the weight divisions". if all goes to plan hopefully gsp will still be holding the ww title after they fight in december and bj will move up and fight gsp in hawaii for the ww belt."
He's saying they're going to fight in a non-title match in december as a "superfight" type promotion, then AFTER that fight BJ will move up to welterweight officially and fight him AGAIN for the title. That's how I understand it anyway. It's pretty poorly phrased.

this fight is no good for either fighter. bad choice ufc. sure it will be a good fight but we shouldn't be getting so bored that we need to have champs collide. ufc needs to bring back some of it's depaarted fighters.
