Sherdog is reporting that Gina Carano’s management has confirmed to them that she will return on EliteXC’s October 4 card which is likely to be televised on CBS. Carano last fought on May 31 when she defeated Kaitlin Young via TKO at the end of the second round at EliteXC: Primetime, the first ever MMA card on network television. Young’s eye was extremely swollen at the end of the second round and she was deemed unable to continue by the doctors at ringside.
Kelly Kobald, a fighter who trains out of Minnesota Martial Arts, has been rumored as the possible opponent for Carano for the October show. Minnesota Martial Arts is the same camp that Kaitlin Young fights out of so she should be well prepared for the fight if she is indeed Carano’s next opponent. Kobald is a veteran of Bodog Fight and has dropped her last two fights to Tara LaRosa and Julie Kedzie. Before that, Kobald was on a seventeen fight win streak.

EXC will probaly make this fight at a weight of 145 so carano doesn't need to cut any weight.

wow, putting her against someone coming off two losses, really stepping it up for the 'pioneer of women's mma'. what happens when she misses weight and get's submitted/ko'd by a stepping stone? hopefully they dont call the fight in between rounds this fight, wont be watching this for the life of me anyway, yay ginaXC.

get me down for 5.5...that is unless the invent a whole new weight class again but this time they wait until after she weighs in. if she misses weight by more than 1 pound she should stop being a fighter...she is a disgrace to the sport with the way she continues to miss weight. 4 times in a row is too much for me to handle...
