Silva has said he dosn't really plan on making a run for the 205 belt and him an Machida are friends and yadayda. After seeing what he did to Irvin what would you guys like him to do? Stay the king at 185 or make a run at 205? I think there are so many good fights for him at 205 I would like to see him make a run. What fights are there at MW....cote and Okami(The only fight I care to see at 185)? I wouldn't mind seeing the fight but I would rather see Silva fight anyone in the top 5 at 205 then anyone at 185. So what say you?

I kinda forgot about Hendo, he needs a few wins before a rematch though imho.

I would rather see him stop at 185 and defend the title. There will alway be people coming through fo him to fight. And if he can keep his run going he could be come the greatest UFC champion of all time.

I always want to see the best fighters fighting each other, so I would like to see him move up.
That being said I don't think Irvin is a good indication of how he would do at 205. I think he would definitely be a top contender but I think some of the more well rounded guys would be able to use their size much more effectively than irvin. That fight was a big mismatch. Irvin can't do much but throw big bombs and Anderson is just too fast to get beat by a fighter like that.
It would be awesome to see Silva vs Silva or Silva vs Liddell. Silva Liddell would be the most interesting IMO. Chuck can take a lot of hard shots and recover quickly, and his style is also counterpunching. I think it would make for fireworks against a great technical aggressive striker like anderson.

Silva would do just fine at 205. He stunned Hendo with a punch and was able to hold his own on the ground with him- 95% of the LHW's out there can't do that.
There are some good match ups for sure, but he said it right on last night. 185 is his responsibility. Some people should model themselves after that. *cough* BJ! *cough*

Right now Silva has 4 fights at MW
Cote Okami Henderson Bisping
I would say Marquardt, but after his last performance I don't think he deserves or is even ready for another title shot.
That is about a year of fighting. I wouldn't mind him moving up for the occasional three rounder in between, but after what he did to Irvin, I don't know if there are too many LHW fighters that would take the fight.
If he cleans out the MW division completely I would like to see him move up and retire his MW legacy. However, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. He still has a few fights to go before he cleans out the division, though Henderson should be the only one that could give him problems.

I think counterpunching would be the worst thing to do against a guy like Silva. Silva is too fast, and accurate it would be hard to slip any of his punches to even attempt to counter.

I agree and Silva would leg kick the hell out of guys like Chuck. Counter punchers are so suceptible to leg kicks because it is hard to counter punch a leg kick.

i think what we are getting is great.
everyone complained about bj and gsp not efending their belts enough before they fight. Anderson said he will defend, AND move up. just because its not for the title doesnt mean i dont want him to fight at LHW.
also. in the chance that lyoto goes on a bad run...losses multiple fights, and is out of title contention, anderson might change his mind.
i really thing its the best of both worlds

I didn't say it would be a successful strategy for chuck, simply that it would make for the most exciting fight.
