I've tried not to overload myself on supplements at the start.

I usually have it down to a number of supplements. And I read articles about supplementation from bodybuilding.com. In fact, I buy all of these supplements from Bodybuilding.com The cheapest prices on the best quality I have found.

-- Multivitamin (They are Cheap, has all of the vitamins to keep the body good).

-- Whey Protein (Helps rebuild the muscles, etc.. some can be fairly cheap)

-- Glutamine ( Also helps with muscle growth, its the most abundant Amino Acid in the tissues)

-- Nitric Oxide (Like BSN Nitrix and NO-Xplode) Although I have not taken these supplements, I have taken other products similar and are good supplements.

-- I used to take Endurox Excel for the longest time and really liked the product. (In short, its an anti-oxidant used to help build endurance... and I really enjoyed this product).

And of course maintaining a good diet does not hurt either.

But like HMA said there are so many you can take and people recommend. I think starting out with Whey Protein, a cheap Multivitamin, and Glutamine would benefit in the beginning as a base.

dont take this as professional advice (because I know nothing about supplements).

if you train right you dont need any supplements. supplements i believe are for weight lifters only. the MMA concept does not require any supplements. to punch, kick and submit people supplements do not help.

i've seen them used to help people bulk up, thats more of a weight lifting thing though.

on UFC they advertise xience all the time, is that a supplement?

Well, I am all for supplements. I have used a ton, and think they help a ton. If you have never used supplements before, you wouldn't understand. Supplements aren't just to help people bulk. You have supplements that will help you with your vascularity, getting lean, bulking, staying in the gym longer, focusing etc... List can go on and on.

So to say they wouldn't help with punching, kicking, sumbitting people... I dont know, any supplements that allows me to train longer, recover faster is going to help with all of that.
