Ok so heres the format. MMA never started really with Pride never starting or UFC. Its 2008 and we bring all the best of each style into a 16 man tournament. The only guy we really cheated of was Bruce Lee who is dead and Sabakura who did MMA but try to ignore him for his MMA fights and think of him purely as a catch wrestler.
Here is round one of the tournament
Sakuraba (Catch Wrestling) vs Superstar (Kung Fu)
Chuck Norris (Karate) vs. Bruce Lee (Jeet Kune Do)
Kimbo Slice (Pit Fighting) vs. Asashoryu Akinori (sumo)
Sambo- Igor Yakimov (Sambo) vs Remy Bojansky (Muay Thai)
Judo - Pawel Nastula (Judo) vs. Lamon Brewster
Brock Lesnar (Wrestling) vs Lateef Crowder (Capoeira)
Daba Modibo Keita (Taekwondo) vs. Jerome Lebanner (Kickboxing)
Mijail Lopez (Greco Roman) vs. Rickson Gracie (Brazilian JJ)
I will pick the winners based on your total votes (picks on who wins) and make the 2nd round once a number of choices are made. Remember the rules are similar to UFC 1 as there really are no rules. The only thing that won't be allow is eye gouging which just isnt cool lol. Also, there are no rounds to any of these fights as its just discussion so the fight goes til someone is KO'ed, Subbed, or unable to fight.
Thanks for posting your picks

Sakuraba (Catch Wrestling) vs Superstar (Kung Fu) Fight lacks entertainment as Sakuraba remains back avoiding any stikes. Superstar remains in his stance, slowly coming foward until Sakuraba goes in for a takedown. Superstar goes to throw a punch but Sakuraba is already in. Hugging Superstar, he throws him to the ground and has side control. Sakuraba then catches Superstar off guard by throwing knees into his side. Superstar looks to be in pain after minutes of being beat down. Sakuraba gets in full mount and ends the fight. Winner Sakuraba by KO
Chuck Norris (Karate) vs. Bruce Lee (Jeet Kune Do) Fight starts slow as both look to counter. Eventually Lee goes in with some leg kicks til one targets Norris in the crouch. Norris goes down and after a few kicks to the face, Norris is KO'ed with in 2 minutes of the fight Winner- Bruce Lee KO
Kimbo Slice (Pit Fighting) vs. Asashoryu Akinori (sumo) Akward looking fight. Slice comes in with haymakers as Akinori looks like he is a lot of pain. Eventually Akinori falls on his stomach when Kimbo backs away and Kimbo finishes him with a few more hits to the head. Winner- Kimo Slice by KO
Sambo- Igor Yakimov (Sambo) vs Remy Bojansky (Muay Thai) This fight turns into a clinch war for the first few minutes, Igor looks more dominate but Bohansky manages to remain standing while throwing a fews knees in the process while pressed against the cage. Eventually Igor losses control of Remy against the cage wall and eats a few punches and a flying knee which sends Igor to the his knees. Almost out, Igor manages to pull Bojansky down and gets side control. Hammer fists for the next few mintues leaves Bojansky bloody as he struggles to get back up. Bojansky eventually gets to his knees in a clinch with Igor and when going up, Remy lands a sweet Knee right on Igors jaw and ends the fight. FIGHT OF THE NIGHT Winner- Remy Bojansky by KO
Judo - Pawel Nastula (Judo) vs. Lamon Brewster (Boxer) Brewster comes into the fight smart and keeps distance while throwing some jabs. Nastula eventually takes advantage of Lamon being near the cage and pushes him against it. Eventually Pawel scores a sweet takedown, throwing Brewster over his back and gets side control. From there, Brewster in left in agony from the takedown and eats elbows and hammer fists. Pawel gets full mount and throws hooks until Lamon rolls over and takes a rear naked choke. Brewster stands up with the choke locked in attempting to punch Pawel from behind and eventually pull his arm out but fails. Brester losses energy and falls to the ground unconcious. Winner- Pawel Nastula by Submission (Rear Naked Choke)
Brock Lesnar (Wrestling) vs Lateef Crowder (Capoeira) Crowder gets no time to do any fancy moves as Brock charges in and full out tackles him into the ground. Crowder tries to escape but eats punches til Lesnar gets in full guard and eventually knocks him out. Winner- Brock Lesnar by KO
Daba Modibo Keita (Taekwondo) vs. Jerome Lebanner (Kickboxing) Fight starts slow, Jerome finds his range after a few hard leg kicks that send Keita limping almost. Lebanner lands a perfect kick to the head of Daba and sends him to the ground for the easy KO. Winner- Jerome Lebanner
Mijail Lopez (Greco Roman) vs. Rickson Gracie (Brazilian JJ) Fight starts with Lopez coming in and easily throwing Rickson to the ground. Immediately though, we find Rickson was waiting for the throwdown. He sinks an armbar in soon after and ends the fight. Winner- Rickson Gracie by Submission (Armbar)

1. Saku charges Super, Running at full speed, only backwards.. when he gets there Super tries throwing strikes but they dont seem to be doing much damage to Sakus back.. Saku catches an arm, and sets up for a keylock, then uses the arm to spin super to the ground and finish the submission.. The ref calls off the fight but Super is protesting loudly becuase he didint tap, but its quite obvious that his arm is hanging strangly and is broken.
2. Chuck Norris begins by dominating Bruce.. Chuck blows are powerfull, and accurate, but bruce manages to start timing them.. with his speed, Bruce parries an entire combo thrown by Chuck, then Bruce side kicks Chuck into a giant pile of boxes. Bruce climbs ontop of chuck grabbing his chest hair, forcing chuck to tap out or pass out.
3. This fight ends quickly.. Akinori runs at Kimbo fullspeed throwing sumo slaps, but Akinori ends up on the ground. Kimbo kicks him in the face and Akinoris tooth goes flying twords the commentators.
4. Both fighters circle for a while, then Igor goes for the take down.. Remy catches him with a knee on the way in and knocks him out.
5. Lamon Brewster comes to the fight wearing one boxing glove on his left hand.. he circle and moves back throwing jabs into the air.. Pawel keeps his hands up and delivers some short kicks to Lamon's knee.. then suddenly Pawel shoots in and takes Lamon Brewster down.. Lamon taps out before any strikes or submissions were even thought of.
6.
We all saw bloodsport... Lateef does jumping monkey kicks, but he just bounces off of Brock.. Brock picks him up and strangles him to death.
7. Daba opens the match by doing some insane aerial quadruple kick.. He then lands in front of Jerome.. Daba throws some flicky leg kicks.. Jerome just stands there looking at him thinking "wtf?" Jerome then kicks Daba's head off.. Jerome looks around Frightened, and tries to put the head back on.
8. Lopez charges Rickson and grabs an easy takedown. Lopez comments.. "hahaha what are you gonna do now karate man? you gonna punch me from down there?" Rickson puts a traingle choke on Lopez, and mumbles something in Portuguese roughly translated to "eat my nuts"
This was all written considering the knowledge the fighters would have of each other at the time :)

Sakuraba, easily
Bruce lee, just a way better fighter than norris was. Out strikes him and takes him out with a series of rapid fire counter strikes
Kimbo takes out the sumo
Remy Bojansky, hes athletic enough to avoid the grappling and catch him with a huge shot that puts him down early
Brewster is a really big guy, but his complete lack of grappling period would kill his chances, all nastula would have to do is pull guard. And countering judo when you have nog rappling base at all is near impossible against someone of nastula's level.
Brock lesnar takes the guy down once he tries a handstand kick and it breaks the guys arm, quickest match of the night. Capoeira lol
Lebanner stands toe to toe with him and beats the life out of him
Rickson, tough match to get the guy on the ground but hes still in phenomenal shape and probably can, what clinches it is what does teh greco guy do to win? he cant take him down without danger... and holding him in the clicnh is just asking rickson to try to fall to the ground into guard.

We all picked exactly the same winners, I guess its time for the next round?
Sakuraba (Catch Wrestling) vs Bruce Lee (Jeet Kune Do)
Kimbo Slice (Pit Fighting) vs. Remy Bojansky (Muay Thai)
Pawel Nastula (Judo) vs. Brock Lesnar (Wrestling)
Rickson Gracie (Brazilian JJ) vs. Jerome Lebanner (Kickboxing)
1. Bruce starts out by throwing kick combos to Sakus legs and mid section. Saku doesnt like this so he moves in for the takedown. He is very surprised by Lee's takedown defense, and realises Lee must have some wrestling training.. however after a few minutes of struggling, Saku is able to use his size, and some fancy techniques to bring Bruce down. Once on the ground Saku goes for a over under choke, it seems to be succes full, until bruce starts hammering away at sakus balls with his infamous 1 inch punch. Saku clutchs his jewels and Lee stands up. He grabs saku by the hair, throws three punches to sakus mid section, then kicks him in the face for the k.o
Winner Bruce Lee
2. The fight lasts 10 minutes, with Remy on the out side picking his shots and backing up, with kimbo chasing, never getting in close enough to land some punches. Eventually Kimbo does get close enough to punch, but hes too slow and Remy grabs the clinch and starts hammering away with knees.. Kimbo taps out, probly more from exhuastions then the strikes.
Winner Remy Bojansky
3. Pawel seems to be overwhelemed.. none of his judo techniques seem to be helping him against the sheer power of Brock. On oone of Pawels takedown attempts, Brock reverses it, and lands on top, pounding out a victory.
Winner Brock Lesner
4. Jerome gives Rickson the hardest fight of his career.. Jerome seems very hard for Rickson to take down. He chases Rickson around the ring with leg kicks that tear Rickson apart. Eventually Rickson does get the fight to the mat. He pulls out an armbar for the victory. After the fight Rickson is seen limping away on his corners shoulders.. It is soon announced that Rickson has broken his ankle and cant continue. After a quick check of his bowels, Steven Seagal is called in as the alternate for the next match.
Winner Rickson Gracie, with Steven Seagal (Aikido) Fighting in his place for the next match up.

If you were gonna do this, you could've done it a lot better. Not a good setup you established. Not the right names, no year (or is it total dream where everyone is at their peak, which makes this less than useless). Make it realistic yet interesting, please.
