Daniel Herbertson was on location in Tokyo to witness the second day of K-1 Max and Dream's Akasaka Fight Festival, where Shinya Aoki (Pictures) and Masakazu Imanari (Pictures) took to the mat for a grappling exhibition.

Also, Tatsuya Kawajiri (Pictures) and Hidehiko Hasegawa (Pictures) displayed some excellent technique.

WAR AOKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

his style of grappling is so hard to compete against. it is so abstract and unconventional. i honestly don't even know what he tapped Imanari with because all i could see was a knot of human limbs

hopefully Aoki can win the LW GP

i thought it was some version of a neck crank, but i wasn't sure as Imanari's head was away from the camera. but after watching 3 times over i would agree

No offense to Bas, but IMO i think he is a little delusional if he think he invented that move, JJ has been around for a long long time, and im sure someone had thought of it long before, Aoki has probably never trained or seen Bas Ruttens youtube videos, he probably learned that move from somebody else. its like that simpson episode when Homer invented that chair that had those thing in the back so you would fall, but than he realized Thomas Edison has invented it long before ( only thing i could relate it with)

South Park episode where Professor Chaos (Butters) is making his usual effort to bring doom and destruction to South Park, but every time he comes up with an idea his partner tells him the Simpsons have already done that
