it's tough to say if you really think about it. lets compare styles shall we. matt serra has shown power in his punches, but he is also a BJJ blackbelt and matt hughes has never shown power in his hands but he is a very good ground & pound guy with underated submissions so i would give the edge to matt serra because he has more tools then hughes does.

Hughes will pull a lay n pray decision, the days when Hughes used to KO people solely with GnP are over (rarely ever see that happen anymore, most of the time when a guy is finished with GnP, he was probably rocked a few seconds before, something Hughes cant do)......Serra will have an active guard, but Hughes will maintain position with few shots and take the fight by UD.

serra forgets he's a bjj blackbelt during fights, though. I, too, am hopin for a win then retire announcement from hughes.

Exactly what i was thinking i agree 100%! serra rarely uses his bjj skills hughes will pund out a decision.

A year ago I would say Hughes would walk through Serra. I am a Hughes fan, but he has looked lack luster recentley. I am not a Serra fan one bit, but I think he has a shot at beating Matt. I hope that Hughes gets his win, and retires.

shoot 6 months ago i wouldnt have considered serra to be able to hang with matt but after 50 pro mma fights hes tired. i hope he goes out with a win and retires gracefully and has a good farm life.
