Couture: Well, I just walked out there to touch gloves and she just hit me. She wasn't interested in touching gloves and that first shot is what broke my jaw. My left hand wasn't even up to protect myself -- it was straight out to touch her glove. She took her shot, connected it and dropped me. That first shot is what broke it.

Dear Kim,

What is one of the first things a referee will say to you during the pre-fight instructions?

PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES!!!

Now you know.

Sincerely,
The Anti-Couture

I did not see her hand extended at all to touch gloves. She got hit because her hand was at her waist. Do not make excusess for your mistakes.

Excuses.

She lost. She needs to get over it.Sharing your name with one of the greatest doesn't make you "ass kicked" proof.

Everyone seems to have a lot of uncalled for animosity towards Couture because of the B.S that Randy is involved in. Has anyone yet to give her credit for fighting through a broken jaw?? How many guys would fight through a jaw broken in two places? I say excuses aside, she is one tough chick and deserves alot more respect.

my personal animosity is based on her and her alone, shes said many shady and disrespectful things.

This should at least serve as a reminder to her, figure out before you go to touch gloves if the opponent wants to.

I agree with you, she dug her own hole. My point was that she deserves some credit for taking a beating like that and not throwing in the towel. As far as making excuses, damn near every fighter makes an excuse about why they lost so I do not think this is anything new.

I've always been against touching gloves. You hook them up when the ref goes over the instructions, no need to replay the same scenario five seconds later. Some guys like to charge right out the gate and they almost feel obligated to stop in their tracks cause their opponent is sticking their glove out. It's like "No man, I'm coming to beat your ass, not give you a high five."

For some fighters respect ends the moment that bell rings. It makes me think of Manvil's last fight when the guy held out a glove and Manvil feinted like he was going to touch gloves but threw a spin kick instead. It didn't land, but still that could have ended the fight right there.

Glove tapping after the clock starts is only expected if they both looked at each other from their corners and raised a hand and the other shook their head yes or also raised their hand.

That's the code of conduct to touch gloves before fighting.

If that didn't happen, then she deserved to be hit for not defending. You can't expect a touch of gloves in every fight.

Props to her though for not giving up with a jaw split in 2 places.

I call BS I watched the fight and doesn't look like she is trying to touch gloves at all Kim comes out looking ready to fight and just got caught. This isnt the first time she has made something up to make her or Randy look better at someone else expense. She seams like a snake and I'm betting the main reason Randy walked out on his contract.

I give her a lot of respect for that. She hung in their and never gave. She's one tough chick.I agree with Rampage when he said that sometimes you do lose for a reason, but i agree with telenights too.I never saw her touch gloves or anything.I hate excuses regardless of who they come from.I'm sure her and Randy had to of thought of the criticism that would come afterwards if she lost though.

She got caught and now she's making it look like she lost for all these other reasons.i just wish some people could take a loss and go on.
